Raw Deal - Raw recap for February 22, 2016

It is announced on the pre-show that Brock Lesnar attacked Dean Ambrose shortly after he arrived in the arena before the show. Lesnar slams Ambrose into a nearby limousine a few times before walking away. Dean Ambrose is taken away in an ambulance.

Renee Young interviews Dolph Ziggler, who admits that Kevin Owens got the better of him at Fastlane. He promises to put the WWE Intercontinental Championship around his waist at WrestleMania 32. The Miz shows up and says Renee Young should be asking about his WrestleMania plans, since he headlined it five years ago. Dolph Ziggler tells him that was five years ago, and that everything he's done since then has been largely forgotten. After asking him what he's done lately, Ziggler tells Miz that if he thinks he deserves a shot at the Intercontinental Championship, then he himself doesn't deserve to be a WWE Superstar.

The Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award can be see in the center of the ring at the beginning of the show.

Vince McMahon shows up to present the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award. Vince McMahon talks about his father, then awards the trophy to his daughter, Stephanie McMahon, who shows up to accept it. Vince tells her she was born for this business and embodies all the attributes of his father. As she thanks Triple H for making everything possible, Shane McMahon appears in the WWE for the first time in years. Vince tries to hug him and shake his hand, but Shane stops him, saying that this award is why he's here and that Stephanie isn't deserving of it. Stephanie tells Shane he doesn't know what he's talking about, especially when it comes to running a business like WWE, but Shane tells her that she and Triple H have run the company into the ground. Stephanie tells him to get out, but Shane tells her and Vince that Vince messed up big time a couple of years and he had to save his bacon. In the process, he was able to take some time off and save his place in line. As for Stephanie's rise atop the company ladder in WWE, Shane let it happen. Stephanie wants to know if this is true, and Vince says there's some truth to it. Shane then says it's all true, and at the time...it was best for business. Shane then tells Steph to leave the ring. Stephanie tells Shane she'll never forgive him. Vince tries to cut him a check, thinking it's about money, but Shane says it's not about money, it's about the McMahon legacy...and that he wants control of Monday Night Raw. Vince says if he controls Raw, he controls the entire company, and that he can't just pick up where he left off now that WWE is a publicly traded company. But he cuts him a deal: he'll give Shane what he wants if he has one match...one night...against an opponent of Vince's choosing. If he wins, he gets what he wants. If he loses, Vince wants everything in Shane's lockbox so that Shane can't hold anything over his head ever again. Shane agrees, and Vince names the time and the place: WrestleMania 32. The opponent of Vince's choice is The Undertaker...and it will be Hell in a Cell.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) beat Neville and The Lucha Dragons (Sin Cara and Kalisto) after Kofi grabs at Sin Cara's mask and pulls it off a bit, leading to a distraction that allows him to hit Trouble in Paradise.

Roman Reigns is concerned about Dean Ambrose. All he knows is that they're running tests on him. As for WrestleMania 32, it's just him and Triple H now, and he likes his odds. He promises to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship right then and there.

Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar show up. Heyman begins by putting Lesnar on a pedestal, and gets us up to speed on what happened at Fastlane before showing us that video of Lesnar decimating Dean Ambrose before the show. Heyman says nothing can protect Ambrose from Lesnar, who he says should be in the main event at WrestleMania 32. After Heyman says that Lesnar is looking for a new WrestleMania opponent, the ambulance is seen on the TitanTron returning to the arena...and out comes Dean Ambrose, still in the neck brace and still extremely weak from the beating Lesnar gave him. He drags himself towards the ring. Lesnar meets him outside, then leaves him alone. Ambrose then gets the mic and tells Lesnar to kiss his ass and that he's indestructible. He then says he wants Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 in a no-holds-barred street fight. Lesnar then returns and hits Ambrose with an F5 outside the ring. Heyman then tells Ambrose his client accepts his challenge.

Before the next match, The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley) show up and tell The Usos they're the most decorated tag team in WWE history, not a nostalgia act, and that their legacy is definied by their tag team title reigns, not the tables, which they say we will never see again. D-Von then tells The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) that Rikishi should have taught them respect instead of buying thongs over and over again. The Usos are about to argue with them when The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) attack them from behind, getting their match underway.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) quickly beat The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor). The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von) approach the ring after the match, then back away.

University of Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh is in the crowd tonight.

Chris Jericho shows up. He talks about AJ Styles and their three matches including their last one at Fastlane. He has a few more things he wants to say to AJ Styles, so he calls him out. AJ Styles shows up. Jericho admits AJ beat him, then congratulates him for proving that he belongs in the WWE. He calls AJ "phenomenal," then he and AJ shake hands. Suddenly, The Social Outcasts (Heath Slater, Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel) show up and act sarcastic and unimpressed about the whole thing. They say nobody is buying this and tell them to get out of the ring as they are a real time. Jericho calls The Social Outcasts' bluff and challenges them right now.

Chris Jericho and AJ Styles beat The Social Outcasts (Heath Slater and Curtis Axel) with the Walls of Jericho on Axel as AJ Styles takes down the rest of The Social Outcasts (Slater, Bo Dallas, Adam Rose).

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon talk backstage. They call Shane McMahon a failure, and that the current situation will be no different. Meanwhile, they have a surprise in store for Roman Reigns...

Stephanie McMahon tells Roman Reigns he has a match with Sheamus, and makes fun of his friendship with Dean Ambrose.

Goldust apologizes to R-Truth for what happened last night with a chocolate frosted yellow cake saying "I'm sorry." He almost gets R-Truth to team up with him, but Truth pushes the cake into his face instead.

The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan) beat Ryback, Kane and The Big Show after Ryback walks out on his teammates.

Ryback says he left the match because he had nothing to prove in the rematch from Fastlane, and that he's done being part of tag teams. He wants to go solo again and break the glass ceiling there, and tells Big Show and Kane that it's nothing personal. He wants the spotlight to be on him.

Sasha Banks beats Naomi with the Banks Statement after Becky Lynch takes out Tamina. After the match, Charlotte shows up wearing a top that looks similar to Brie Bella's. She mocks both Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks, and tries to drive a wedge between them as she tries to figure which of them will get a title shot against her at WrestleMania 32.

Stephanie McMahon tells her father Vince McMahon that she doesn't want to work for her brother Shane McMahon. Vince tells her that with this calculated risk he's set up, she won't have to.

The Godfather is the next inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2016. He will be inducted into the Hall by The Acolytes Protection Agency (JBL and Ron Simmons).

Triple H will be on SmackDown this Thursday night to address Roman Reigns!

Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus ends when Triple H shows up, this time in a T-shirt, blue jeans, boots and taped up hands. Roman Reigns and Triple H brawl. Triple H ends up winning this brawl by a long shot by ramming Roman Reigns into the commentary table multiple times to the point that Roman Reigns is bleeding from his nose and hitting him with a Pedigree on the steel steps.
