Wednesday Night's Main Event - Main Event recap for October 10, 2012

Michael Cole and The Miz welcome everyone to tonight's show.

We see a video package for Big Show. In the locker room, Josh Mathews interviews Big Show, who says he has to prove once again that he is the most dominant force in the company. After last week, he learned that the fans are fickle and that he should not cater to them anymore. He tells Mathews that his fist can break his face to the point that he can't move his jaw and he'll have a headache for six days, and when he beats Randy Orton again, it won't be a fluke.

We see a video package for Randy Orton. Backstage, Matt Stryker interviews Randy Orton, who says he is not here to make excuses. He says he will see Alberto Del Rio down the road very soon, and as for Big Show, he is not ashamed to have lost to him. He says that he does not like losing and that, while he does not believe lightning strikes twice, a viper can.

Big Show beats Randy Orton after repeatedly working on Randy Orton's injured ribs with four elbow drops prior to a Colossal Clutch followed by a choke slam. After the match, Matt Stryker interviews Show, who says that he will become the world's largest champion when he knocks Sheamus out at Hell In A Cell. The referee and a member of the medical staff is seen checking on Orton in the ring.

Backstage, Josh Mathews interviews Sheamus. He says that when Big Show caught his Brogue Kick on Raw, it stopped him in his tracks. He says that Big Show is perhaps his biggest challenge yet, but he looks forward to it as there is no bigger fight than Big Show. If he can beat Big Show at Hell In A Cell, that win will be so much sweeter.

Kofi Kingston beats Michael McGillicutty. After the match, The Miz interviews Kofi in the ring. Miz sarcastically congratulates Kofi on the win, then mocks Kofi for saying the match was fun, saying Kofi's attitude devalues everything in the ring and the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Miz goes on about being a "WrestleMania Hall of Famer," saying he didn't get there by being "a carefree hippie on a drumline" and says Kofi cheap shotted him on Raw because he can never be on his level and because it was the only way to beat him. Kofi says he has what it takes to do what Miz has accomplished, and says that maybe it is his plan to make Miz think he is a non-threat and that Miz won't truly know unless he faces him one-on-one in the ring. Miz tells Kofi to name the time and place, and Kofi says it will be next week on Main Event. Miz accepts, then Kofi says it will be with the Intercontinental Championship on the line. Miz laughs, then Kofi says he was Intercontinental Champion one year ago, and says that while Miz doesn't have to put it on the line, it only proves he was a better Intercontinental Championship than Miz ever will be. Miz tells Kofi that if he wants the Intercontinental title on the line, he's on, and Kofi says "Sounds like fun." Miz then tries to hit Kofi with a cheap shot, but Kofi connects with Trouble In Paradise before lifting the Intercontinental Championship into the air to end the show.
