WrestleMania 16/WrestleMania 2000 - The Results

Lillian Garcia sings The Star Spangled Banner.

Ice-T performs "Pimpin' Ain't Easy" from WWF Aggression as The Godfather and D'Lo Brown make their way down to the ring for the next match.

The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan beat The Godfather and D'Lo Brown. During the match, it is announced that fans from 38 states in the United States of America and 11 countries are in the arena to see WrestleMania. After the match, The Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan chase The Godfather's hos to the back.

Backstage, Triple H and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley compare championships and gloat about orchestrating the biggest WrestleMania of all time.

Hardcore Holly is the final winner in the 15-minute Hardcore Battle Royal, and is therefore WWF Hardcore Champion. During the match, the WWF Harcore Championship changes hands from Crash Holly to Tazz, Viscera, Sho Funaki (who gets chased to the back by a jealous Taka Michinoku and everyone else in the match after he gets punched by Taka), Rodney, Joey Abs (who clotheslines Rodney immediately after winning the title), Thrasher (who is hit with a pipe by Mosh immediately after winning the title), Pete Gas (who is busted open), back to Tazz (who wins the title a second time in the same match), back to Crash Holly, and Hardcore Holly (after hitting Tazz with a glass candy jar to break the Tazzmission and get the pinfall victory at the very last second).

We see some footage from WrestleMania Axxess.

Backstage in the bathroom, Al Snow is talking to somebody in a bathroom stall, telling them they will be in the greatest WrestleMania ring entrance in history. Suddenly, "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman shows up and tells Al Snow not to do anything stupid tonight. Suddenly, the toilet in the stall flushes, and Blackman again warns Al Snow not to do anything stupid tonight.

Before the next match, Al Snow introduces "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman to "Chester McCheesington," a little person in a cheese suit who proceeds to play "Let's Go Head Cheese" on his ass cheeks, just like in the idea that Blackman (unwittingly) gave Al Snow last week.

T&A (Test and Prince Albert) beat Al Snow and "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman. After the match, Al Snow apologizes to Blackman and says Chester McCheesington was a stupid idea. He brings Chester into the ring, and tells Blackman it's time to cut the cheese. He hits Chester with the microphone before Blackman kicks Chester in the face before they both double team him.

Backstage, Mae Young is in The Kat's dressing room as The Kat gets ready for her match. The whole time, as Mae Young takes a phone call for The Kat, picks a shirt for The Kat and hands The Kat two water bottles, THe Kat is completely nude and is censored by predictably humorous and situational means. (A glimpse of The Kat's nipples can be seen, though they are censored on WWE Network.)

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley). D-Von says tonight is the night, yet it seems like the WWF is always trying to put them down, but he will forget tonight's match is a ladder match and promises that The Dudleys will retain the tag team titles. Buh Buh Ray says tonight is the night that The Dudley Boyz take WrestleMania to a whole new level when they take the ladder match to a whole new level of violence and walk out with the tag team titles.

Edge and Christian beat The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) and The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) in a Triangle Ladder Match to become the WWF Tag Team Champions!

Backstage, Kevin Kelly interviews WWF co-owner Linda McMahon and Mick Foley. Linda says he is happy that Foley will be able to fulfill a life-long dream. Foley says nobody is holding anything back tonight on the biggest show of the year, and says the main event will be the biggest match in the history of his career as well as the WWF. He thanks Linda for giving him a second chance to make a last impression, and says he wants people to talk about the main event for the next ten years. He says tonight is a fairy tale, and he tells Triple H, The Rock and Big Show that fairy tales can come true, especially when he wins the WWF Championship tonight.

Before the next match, Val Venis says "The Big Valbowski" and WrestleMania have a lot in common, as they are both the single lasrgest extravaganza of all time and they will both get the ladies' blood pumping. However, while WrestleMania comes once a year, "The Big Valbowski" comes every single night.

Terri Runnels beats The Kat in a catfight after Mae Young forces herself on special guest referee Val Venis, allowing The Fabulous Moolah to help Terri back in the ring when both Terri and The Kat go out of the ring. After the match, Mae Young hits Moolah with the Bronco Buster before The Kat and Mae Young rip at Terri's clothes.

Backstage, Dean Malenko tells Perry Saturn that tonight is the final chapter of Too Cool (Scotty 2 Hotty and Grandmaster Sexay), as it is about time they broke their legs. Eddie Guerrero, on the other hand, cannot stop talking about Chyna, saying that she cannot take his "Latino heat" as tonight is her lucky night when he lays all his Latino heat on her. Meanwhile, Chyna and Too Cool have seen the previous promo on a locker room television. Chyna is disgusted, and Grandmaster Sexzy says it's time to go to the ring.

Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) and Chyna beat The Radicalz (Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero) after Chyna finally has enough of Eddie Guerrero's "Latino heat" antics.

Bridget and Chris Binder of Allentown, Pennsylvania are the winners of the WrestleMania All Day .

Backstage, WWF co-owner Shane McMahon tells Big Show that he will become the next WWF Champion as their era begins. Big Show says "the most electrifying man in sports entertainment "The Rock" will be unplugged, and that Mick Foley will be retired for good. As far as Triple H goes, the game is over.

Backstage, Kurt Angle bores another arena worked about being the WWF Intercontinental and European Champion, and asks him to get some extra security guards to protect him after he retains both titles at WrestleMania.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho welcomes everyone to "WrestleMania is Jericho" before saying he has waited his whole life for this moment, as have the Jerichoholics, and while he cannot guarantee that he will walk out with any championships, he can guarantees that he will walk out "the true ayatollah of rock 'n rollah" and that "Kirk Angle" and "Mr. Roboto" with bumps, bruises and a T-shirt that reads "I visited Anaheim[, California] and all I got was this lousy T-shirt and a Y2J beating Iw ill never, ever forget again."

Kurt Angle loses both the WWF Intercontinental and European Championships in the two-fall Triple Threat Match, with Benoit winning the Intercontinental Championship on the first fall after a top rope diving headbutt on Jericho and Jericho and Jericho winning the European Championship on the second fall after Benoit misses a top rope diving headbutt.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews WWF Chairman Vince McMahon. When asked if he will be a factor in the main event, Vince says he is always a factor in one way or another and that The Rock is confident he wil win the WWF Championship regardless of whether he is in his corner or not. As far as the rest of his family is concerned, his family may be "dysfunctional," but he promises to make it right.

Backstage, Triple H tells WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley that is it not about who is right or wrong; it is about who is the best, and he is going to prove who the man is and he will not allow himself to be beaten, for he is that damn good.

Before the next match begins, Tori slaps Paul Bearer, but the slap has no effect. Kane goes after Tori along with Paul Bearer, and while X-Pac stops Kane, Tori ends up in the middle of the ring with Rikishi. X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James have to help Tori out of the ring, and when X-Pac and Road Dogg try to leave with Tori, Kane and Rikishi catch up with them and get them back in the ring.

Rikishi Phatu and Kane beat D-Generation X (X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James) with a Tombstone Piledriver to X-Pac after Tori gets the Stinkface from Rikishi. After the match, Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty) show up, as does the San Diego Chicken. Too Cool, Rikishi and the San Diego Chicken dance while Kane and Paul Bearer watch in the corner, then Kane goes after THe San Diego Chicken. The San Diego Chicken proves to be a front for Pete Rose to hit Kane with a baseball bat, and Rikishi stops the baseball bat attack so Kane can choke slam Pete Rose. Afterwards, Pete Rose gets a Stinkface in the corner from Rikishi.

Backstage, Kevin Kelly interviews The Rock, who says that after everything that he has gone through in the last year, he would do it all over again. He then says that it is all about winning the WWF Championship, and that if he has an ounce of sweat or blood to drop, then he will lay the smack down on Triple H, Big Show and Mick Foley, as tonight is the night.

Actors Michael Clark Duncan, Marty Shore and Dustin Diamond are seen in the crowd.

Triple H retains the WWF Championship against Big Show, Mick Foley and The Rock in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match, marking the first time in WrestleMania history that a heel champion retains the WWF Championship. Big Show is eliminated with a chair shot to the back from Mick Foley soon after Shane McMahon grabs at The Rock's leg, allowing The Rock to hit Big Show with the Rock Bottom to eliminate him. Mick Foley is eliminated following a Pedigree onto a steel chair. Foley then leaves the match with a standing ovation. The Rock is eliminated after WWF Chairman Vince McMahon turns on The Rock, hitting him in the head with a steel chair twice and allowing Triple H to retain. After the match, Vince and WWF co-owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley hug, and Shane also joins in on the celebration. The Rock sees all this and runs back into the ring, hitting both Vince and Shane with Rock Bottoms. When Stephanie checks on Vince, she confronts The Rock and slaps him only to also receive a Rock Bottom followed by The People's Elbow.

Here's WrestleMania in 60 seconds!
