It is announced by commentary that Eric Bischoff has asked the referees not to be quick to throw matches out, and as a result, there will be a lot of leeway in the officiating and that fights should be expected tonight.
Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Team Package (The Total Package and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair). Flair is in his street clothes because Vince Russo has made it clear that tonight will be a street fight as far as he is concerned.
Before the next match, Vince Russo shows up and asks what happened to the easy playing field, and says two veterans versus two rookies is not even. He then "sends out the boys," and brings out The Harris Boys (Ron and Don Harris) to help out The Mamalukes (Johnny the Bull and Big Vito).
Despite The Harris Boys (Ron and Don Harris) helping out The Mamalukes (Big Vito and Johnny The Bull), Team Package (The Total Package and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair) beat The Mamalukes (Big Vito and Johnny The Bull) with a Torture Rack to Johnny The Bull to advance in the WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament. During the match, two random men grab Disco Inferno by the arms and forcefully take him to the back.
Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Mike Awesome, who is revealed to be the surprise eighth man in the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship Tournament, with his first round opponent being "The Cat" Ernest Miller. Awesome says it is good that cats have nine lives, because he will take Miller's nine lives and beating the hell out of each and everyone of them. All of a sudden, Bam Bam Bigelow shows up wondering where Mike Awesome came from, and after a brief argument, Awesome attacks Bigelow from behind.
Before the next match, Jimmy Hart tells Mancow that after this match, he will still be the most successful wrestling manager of all time while Mancow Muller will be "just another Howard Stern wanna-be." When Mancow shows up, he calls Jimmy Hart a "piece of shit" before thanking Eric Bischoff for giving him the chance to reclaim his honor in Chicago, Illinois, and tells the fans that this is for them. WHen Jimmy Hart turns his back on him, Mancow beats the crap out of him to start the match.
Mancow Muller beats Jimmy Hart. During the match, Mancow pulls the referee over himself to stop an elbow drop from Jimmy hart, and Hail tosses Mancow into Al Roker Jr., Bryan the Whipping Boy and Turd with a military press. Hart sends Hail away, but Brayn the Whipping Boy gives Mancow a steel chair to hit Hart in the back with to win the match. After the match, Kidman shows up and attacks Jimmy Hart.
Backstage, Vince Russo chews out The Harris Boys (Ron and Don Harris) and The Mamalukes (Big Vito and Johnny The Bull) for their failure tonight, then swing a baseball bat into a wall.
Scott Steiner beats The Wall by disqualification to advance in the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. During the match, Scott Steiner pokes The Wall in the eyes, then places the referee in front of him. The Wall then inadvertently grabs the referee and choke slams him through a table. Referee Billy Silverman shows up, disqualifies The Wall, gives Scott Steiner the win, then runs to the back when The Wall chases after him.
Backstage, "Mean" Gean Okerlund interviews "The Cat" Ernest Miller, who says he does not care if Mike Awesome is his opponent. As he says that it is typical of WCW to hire another redneck to do their dirty work, he is suddenly attacked from behind by Bam Bam Bigelow.
Mike Awesome beats "The Cat" Ernest Miller to advance in the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship Tournament. At the start of the match, Bam Bam Bigelow attacks Mike Awesome from behind and more or less substitutes for Miller as Awesome's opponent; later on in the match, Miller shows back up and takes out Bam Bam Bigelow with a side kick before putting his red shoes on and dancing. Awesome then hits Miller with a running clothesline followed by an Awesome Splash for the win.
Backstage, Vince Russo tells Eric Bischoff to relax, but Bischoff has a feeling that Hulk Hogan is going to be in the building tonight following Kidman's attack on Jimmy Hart.
Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Franchise" Shane Douglas and Buff Bagwell. Buff says Harlem Heat (Stevie Ray, Big T, Cash, J. Biggs) is just a roadblock for the New Blood, while Shane Douglas tells "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair that Space Mountain is closed as of tonight and that Flair's "jet flyin', limousine ridin' bullshit" is over. He says that The New Blood are the future, and the future is now.
"The Franchise" Shane Douglas and Buff Bagwell beat Harlem Heat (Stevie Ray and Big T) to advance in the WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament. After the match, Big T and Stevie Ray have to be separated from one another by J. Biggs and Cash.
Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Booker T, who says that if anybody ahs fought for opportunity in WCW, that is him. He may be on the same page as The New Blood as far as opportunity goes, but that is about it. He also says that he and Eric Bischoff have never seen eye to eye, but tonight, he's got Sting.
Sting beats Booker T to advance in the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Booker T confronts Sting after the match, then brings him into the ring to fist bump with Sting, and Sting fist bumps back as a show of respect.
Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Eric Bischoff, Kidman and Torrie Wilson. Bischoff says a stupid rumor will not rain on his parade, and that Hulk Hogan will not make it into the building tonight. Kidman tells Bischoff not to swerat it, because if he does make it into the building, he will be wheeling hismelf out after how he crippled him on Nitro and he will send him back to the emergency room, where he will be sucking air through a tube.
Vampiro beats Kidman to advance in the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship Tournament. During the match, a black Dodge Charger shows up backstage, and Hulk Hogan climbs out of the driver's seat and heads towards the ring. Kidman tries to fight Hogan, but Hogan tosses him out of the ring and proceeds to beat him up before slamming him through the commentary table. He then places Kidman back in the ring and asks referee Charles Robinson to make the pinfall for Vampiro. Hogan then gets on the microphone and says he hopes Eric Bischoff is watching, as he is coming after him right now. Backstage, Eric Bischoff tries to leave, but Vince Russo tells him to stay here and let him handle it as the arena is not very big and Hogan will find him. Hogan heads backstage looking for Bischoff, tossing an entire table as he does. He finds the office and kicks the door down, then confronts Bischoff and gets his hands around his neck. Local law enforcement are brought into the room by Vince Russo, and they proceed to draw guns on Hogan. Hogan is handcuffed and taken out of the building as he tells Bischoff he will "eat [his] ass alive". Meanwhile, Terry Taylor tells Terry Funk that "Screamin'" Norman Smiley is waiting for him in catering. Funk heads to catering and asks everyone where Smiley is, and everyone directs him to the restroom, where he finds Smiley and proceeds to fight him to start their hardcore match.
Terry Funk beats "Screamin'" Norman Smiley in a hardcore match to win the WCW Hardcore Championship! During the match, Dustin Rhodes shows up and attacks Terry Funk, but Terry Funk gets his leg up as Dustin goes up top, sending him into a ladder. Funk then gets badck up and uses the ladder as a weapon against Smiley to win the title.

Backstage, Vince Russo - who is carrying a baseball bat - confronts Booker T. He tells Booker he is trying to help him and to stop "pssing Eric Bischoff off." He then says he will keep this conversation under wraps if Booker does him a favor.
Scott Steiner beats Mike Awesome with the Scott Steiner to advance in the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship Tournament after Kevin Nash shows up and knocks shows up and knocks Mike Awesome off the top rope with a crutch.
In the locker room, Vince Russo - accompanied by Booker T - fires Dustin Rhodes while telling him his father "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes was nothing and that he was something when he Goldust, which he created. Booker T has to calm Dustin down.
Sting beats Vampiro with the Scorpion Death Lock to advance in the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship Tournament.
Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Diamond Dallas Page. DDP says there is only one thing he wants more than becoming World Champion again, and that is kicking that "rat bastard" Jeff Jarrett's ass from one sitde of Chicago, Illinois to the other. If Jarrett wants to hit Kimberly with a guitar shot, then Kimberly will get her shot at Jarrett before the night is over.
Before the next match, Shannon Moore and Shane Helms say they are the only two members of 3 Count to make it to the show, but they are better than everyone else. Suddenly, Lash LeRoux, Crowbar and The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea rush in to attack them, starting the six-way match match for the vacant WCW Cruiserweight Championship early as Chris Candido and Juventud Guerrera also show up.
"Hard Knox" Chris Candido beats The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea, Juventud Guerrera, Shannon Moore, Lash LeRoux and Crowbar in a six-way match to win the vacant WCW Cruiserweight Championship after Tammy Lynn Sytch - the woman formerly known as Sunny in the WWF - shows up and pushes The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea off the top rope. After the match, Paisley drags Tammy onto the mat, starting a catfight. Shannon Moore pulls Sunny off Paisley only to receive a testicular claw, and Chris Candido has to get Tammy away from Paisley.

Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Jeff Jarrett, who threatens to slap Okerlund's liver spots in two before saying he is the chosen one and that he has Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo behind him as well as The New Blood on his side. After tonight is all said and done, he will become the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion.
Vince Russo shows up with a baseball bat in his hands and accompanies Buff Bagwell and "The Franchise" Shane Douglas to the ring before the next match. Russo then guests on commentary for the match.
Buff Bagwell and "The Franchise" Shane Douglas beat Team Package (The Total Package and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair) for the vacant WCW World Tag Team Championships. During the match, Vince Russo heads to the ring with his baseball bat in his hand, but when Shane Douglas tries to assist Buff Bagwell with the Buff Blockbuster, Bagwell inadvertently takes out Douglas. Vince Russo and referee Nick Patrick argue with and push one another outside of the ring, then two men clad in black: Bryan Adams and Bryan Clarke (the latter formerly known as Wrath) show up and decimate The Total Package. Russo then strips a beaten-up Nick Patrick of his referee's shirt and puts it on to count the pinfall for Buff Bagwell, who pins The Total Package, giving Bagwell and Douglas the win and the tag team titles.
Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Scott Steiner, who says he represents himself, not The New Blood. He says he is a physical phenomenon and a genetic freak, and he tells Okerlund to tell Sting his ass belongs to him. After Scott Steiner heads to the ring, Okerlund interviews Sting, who says that if Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo want ta war, they've got one, and Scott Steiner are going to be the next casualty and that running from The Millionaire's Club will get him nowhere as WCW's blood runs through their veins.
Scott Steiner beats Sting with the Steiner Recliner to win the vacant WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. During the match, referee Billy Silverman is laid out by a Stinger Splash. As Sting goes for a third one, Vampiro comes out from underneath the ring and drags Sting in with him. Vampiro then shows up from underneath the ring several seconds later with Sting, who is bleeding from his mouth, and hands him off to Scott Steiner. Scott Steiner revives referee Billy Silverman just in time to put Sting in the Steiner Recliner for the win and the United States title.
Jeff Jarrett beats Diamond Dallas Page to win the vacant WCW World Heavyweight Championship. During the match, Eric Bischoff is seen watching the match from the middle of the aisle. Later on in the match, Jeff Jarrett grabs the top rope to block the Diamond Cutter, knocking referee Charles Robinson down and allowing Jarrett to hit DDP with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. DDP kicks out, however, and Bischoff is seen moving closer to ringside as Jarrett goes for the Figure Four Leg Lock in the middle of the ring. Suddenly, Kimberly has Jeff Jarrett's guitar in her hands, and Bischoff makes his way to ringside. DDP makes his way to the bottom rope, and when Jarrett goes for a Figure Four again, it leads to a series of pinfall attempts by DDP. Jarrett then goes for a sleeper hold in the middle of the ring, but as DDP fights out of it and counters one of his own - which leads to DDP taking Jarrett down - Bischoff gets on the ring apron, distracting referee Charles Robinson as DDP calls for the Diamond Cutter. Kimberly also gets on the apron before DDP hits the Diamond Cutter. Bischoff continues to distract the referee as Kimberly gets in the ring with the guitar and hits DDP with it, allowing Jarrett to hit The Stroke. Bischoff then stops distracting referee Charles Robinson, who counts the pinfall and declares Jarrett the winner. Bischoff is seen looking into the camera and saying "Wow," then Bischoff and Kimberly hug in the center of the ring along with Vince Russo, confirming Kimberly as a member of The New Blood. Members of The New Blood then show up and celebrate in the ring with Jarrett to end the show.
