Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 10, 1999

RAW

The Corporate Ministry is seen entering the building, but so is WWF co-owner Vince McMahon, The Union (Mankind, Big Show, Test, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock) and riot police.

Before the next match, a woman in pink rushes up to "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn and wraps her hands around him, but she is taken away by security.

Kane vs. "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn ends when "Road Dogg" Jesse James attacks Gunn as X-Pac tries to free Kane's leg from being tangled in the ropes. Road Dogg chases Gunn into the crowd, then D'Lo Brown and "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry show up and attack Kane and X-Pac before referees try to restore order. Kane ends up freeing himself, and chases D'Lo, Henry and Ivory to the back along with X-Pac.

WWF co-owner Vince McMahon, The Union (Mankind, Big Show, Test, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock) and the riot police are seen backstage, as is The Corporate Ministry.

Monica Seles is seen in the front row.

The Union (Mankind, Big Show, Test, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock), WWF co-owner Vince McMahon and the riot police make their way to the ring. Vince says that WWF co-owner Shane McMahon has turned his back on his own family, and should not look forward to looking to them for support ever again. Tonight, Shane can look to the Union label, and Vince asks if Shane has the guts, as they are not hard to find. The Corporate Ministry shows up, and Shane says he does not need Vince's family as he has his own in The Corporate Ministry. Tonight, after he destroys Vince and The Union, it will all be his. As The Corporate Ministry walks down to the ramp, someone is heard on the TitanTron saying that the weather is much better in San Antonio than it is in Florida. It is none other than WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, who has not been seen in quite some time. He says the sheriff is back in town, and says Shane's match last was okay but lacked a little something he will help him out with later. He then announces that out of the goodness of his heart, he will add Vince McMahon to the WWF Championship match between The Undertaker and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at Over The Edge as a second special guest referee. For tonight, he announces a lumberjack match between Faarooq and Bradshaw, with the lumberjacks being the members of The Union. He also adds a Nightstick on a Pole Match between Test and The Big Boss Man for tonight, and the first person to get the nightstick gets to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. He also adds a return match for tonight: Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson vs. The Mean Street Posse (Rodney and Pete Gas), and whoever loses this match has to leave the WWF forever. "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock gets to take on "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Chyna. Also, Big Show will face Paul Bearer in a match where if any member of The Corporate Ministry interferes, The Undertaker loses his title shot at Over The Edge. Upon hearing this news, Paul Bearer faints. He also makes a hardcore handicap match between the team of Mideon and Viscera and the one and only Cactus Jack, who is advertised for one night only. He makes a WWF Women's Championship match between Debra and Sable, and it will be an Evening Gown Match. If Sable fails to show up, she will be stripped of the WWF Women's Championship. He then makes a six-man tag match between the team of Shane McMahon, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and The Undertaker and the team of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock and Vince McMahon. As he ponders who to make the special guest referee for that match, Shane says he is the one running the show, but Shawn says he would respond like that, and this is why the riot police are here. He then asks the three riot police to unmask. The first one is Pat Patterson, the third one is Gerald Brisco, but the second one is Shawn Michaels himself, which means that he is at the show in Orlando and not in San Antonio. Shawn then announces that the special guest referee for the six-man tag match is none other than himself.

Paul Bearer has to be brought to the ring by "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, who then guests on commentary.

Big Show vs. Paul Bearer ends in a no-contest. During the match, Big Show takes Paul Bearer down with a big boot and an elbow drop, then asks "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels to remove the stipulation where The Undertaker loses his WWF title shot if any Corporate Ministry interferes in the match and allow The Undertaker to get in the ring so he can kick his ass. Shawn makes it possible, then The Undertaker shows up. Big Show dares The Undertaker to enter the ring. When he doesn't, he hits Bearer with another elbow drop. The rest of The Corporate Ministry shows up to get their hands on Big Show, but the rest of The Union (Mankind, Test, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock) rushes in to clear the ring.

Sable retains the WWF Women's Championship against Debra. Val Venis shows up before the match, and distracts Debra. This allows Sable to disrobe Debra of her evening gown and win. After the match, Nicole Bass confronts Val Venis, and Venis is attacked from behind by Jeff Jarrett with a guitar shot to the head. Michael Cole then interviews Sable, but before she can speak, WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels grabs the microphone, tells Nicole Bass "Step off, mister," then says he sees the rules for an evening gown match a little bit differently, and says with puppies like Debra's, the winner who gets disrobed is the winner. He then rules that Debra is the new WWF Women's Champion. Sable and Nicole Bass confront Shawn as Debra lifts up the belt, then Sable tries to steal Debra's spotlight.

WWF co-owner Shane McMahon tells "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and The Undertaker that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock and WWF co-owner Vince McMahon are all going down tonight.

The Big Boss Man beats Test in a Nightstick on a Pole by pulling out his own hidden piece of pipe to knock the nightstick away from him. Test goes for a Sunset Flip, but Boss Man uses the nightstick against him.

Cactus Jack is seen looking for weapons backstage.

Val Venis tells Michael Cole he has a bone to pick with Jeff Jarrett, as Jarrett walks around thinking Debra is all up in his stuff, when deep down in her gut, Debra really wants "The Big Valbowski." If Jarrett wants to hit him in the head witha guitar and takes his frustration, he wants him in the ring tonight, as the guitar shot will never measure to the Money Shot.

WAR ZONE

Cactus Jack beats Mideon and Viscera in a hardcore handicap match.

Michael Cole interviews Chyna backstage. Chyna takes offense to "The World's Most Dangerous Woman," as she gets moody every 28 days and yesterday was day 27. She tells "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock that tonight, the balls are in her court, and she might rip them off and step on them.

We see a vignette for "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman, who has not been seen in some time.

Before the next match, Faarooq says that he and Bradshaw will not fight for everyone's amusement even if WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels makes them, as they all know who the winner would be. Bradshaw tells Faarooq that he has outdrank him for the past six months, and tells him not to let him beat his ass to prove he can outfight him. Faarooq says "I'll be damned!" Bradshaw says they have a heck of a team, and tells Faarooq not to ruin it by having him hand him his ass. This leads to both men fighting each other.

The Lumberjack Match between Faarooq and Bradshaw - with The Union (Mankind, Big Show, Test, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock) as lumberjacks - ends when Mideon and Viscera show up to stop Faarooq and Bradshaw from fighting each other. They are unable to when Faarooq and Bradshaw fight them, but this is quickly stopped when The Big Boss Man shows up and does what he can to stop them from fighting. After the match, The Union get in the ring while everyone else gets out...except for Viscera. Viscera is caught between all four members of The Union and is attacked with 2x4s.

Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco beat The Mean Street Posse (Rodney and Pete Gas) in a Loser Leaves WWF match. As per the pre-match stipulation, The Mean Street Posse are out of the WWF. After the match, Pat Patterson takes his shirt off and poses like Hollywood Hogan.

Michael Cole interviews "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock. Shamrock says his match with Chyna has taken by surprise. He knows and appreciates what WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels is trying to do, but he grew up in group homes and juvenile halls, and if you hit a woman, there was a very serious price to pay. Shamrock says he has been backed into a corner, and that he will have to wait and see what happens.

Before the next match, Jeff Jarrett shows up with Debra, mocks Val Venis' intro and says he is not only a little pissed off tonight, he was born pissed off. When Venis shows up, he runs into the ring.

Jeff Jarrett beats Val Venis after Debra gets on the apron, takes her jacket off and distracts Val Venis, who proceeds to make out with her. Debra slaps Val, then Jarrett nails Val with the WWF Women's Championship for the win.

We see another vignette taking place in the 1950s era house in black-and-white. Harry "Beaver" Cleavage is sitting on the counter top with a scratch on his left knee from trying to get as high as he can on the swing set. Harry's mom tells him to hold still while she takes care of his split knee, and says "We can't want a split beaver running around, can we?" The camera then focus on "Beaver" Cleavage, who says that his mom is the expert when it comes to working on her knees.

Chyna vs. "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock ends with "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna attacking Shamrock only for Shamrock to snap after the two of the cause Shamrock - who does not want to hit Chyna - to snap. After Shamrock hits Chyna with a belly-to-belly suplex, Shamrock kicks the steel steps leading to the ring and heads to the back.

Vince McMahon, The Rock and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin beat The Corporate Ministry (Shane McMahon, The Undertaker, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley) in a match with WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee. Vince tries to pin Shane, but Austin pulls Vince off of Shane so he can hit Shane with a Stone Cold Stunner and pin him himself. After the match, Austin and Shawn have a beer together.
