Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 5, 1998

RAW

D'Lo Brown beats X-Pac to win the WWF European Championship for a second time after "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry trips X-Pac after D'Lo Brown gets down on one knee. As referee Tim White checks on D'Lo Brown, Henry trips X-Pac, and X-Pac tries to hit Henry with a cross body to the outside only for Henry to catch him, slam him into a ring post and roll him back into the ring for the Lo-Down before the referee can turn around. During the match, a process server shows up, hands Chyna a document, then runs away through the crowd before Chyna reads it and tears it up. "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry smiles at Chyna, saying it's from him.

WWF owner Vince McMahon is seen live via satellite in bed at an undisclosed hospital. We also see footage of The Oddities (Luna Vachon, Kurrgan, Giant Silva, Golga) and The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) playing football from earlier today, and The Oddities clearly have no idea how to play the game.

The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) show up. Mosh says The Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) have stuck their nose in their business one too many times, and calls them out for a match, even though he knows they are musicians and not professional wrestlers. The Oddities (Luna Vachon, Kurrgan, Giant Silva, Golga), but Mosh insists that they want The Insane Clown Posse. Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope show up, and Thrasher tells them The Headbangers want just ICP, and wants them to send The Oddities to the back, so they can show them what real heavy metal is all about. As soon as they get in the ring - and send The Oddities to the back - The Headbangers make quick work of them and eventually lay them out with a steel chair. The Oddities then come back, and The Headbangers retreat before Thrasher tells ICP that they suck. The Oddities then help ICP to the back.

We see WWF owner Vince McMahon live at the undisclosed hospital. We then see WWF.com footage from last night during Sunday Night Heat of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin taking an ax and destroying the wires of the production truck sending the live feed that being beamed directly to Vince McMahon's hospital room.

WWF owner Vince McMahon finds out he has a visitor: Mankind, who brings him balloons and chocolate candy. He also brings "female entertainment:" Yurple The Clown, who tries to bring some clown care cheer to Vince and makes balloon animals for him. There is also a third guest: Mr. Socko, who is actually a sock on Mankind's hand with a face drawn on it. When Mr. Socko tries to "kiss the boo-boo" on Vince's leg, it actually causes some slight pain to Vince. Vince eventually kicks all three of them out of his hospital room.

Sable guests on commentary for the next match. (The as-of-yet unnamed Tori is seen right behind her.)

"Marvelous" Marc Mero beats Vader with a low blow after Jacqueline distracts Vader and the referee by jumping onto top of him. Vader puts him down, but Mero hits the low blow before the Marvelocity while the referee helps Jacqueline out of the ring. After the match, Jacqueline dares Sable to get in the ring with her, and Sable leaves the commentary table and gets in the ring. Mero stops her, and says the only reason she is upset is because she cannot satisfy him. Sable slaps Mero, then Jacqueline attacks Sable from behind before cutting a chunk of Sable's hair off with a pair of scissors.

We see a nurse take WWF owner Vince McMahon's temperature live via satellite at the undisclosed hospital.

We see a vignette for Steven Regal: a real man's man. Here, we see him make his own glass of orange juice with nothing but oranges and a knife.

Before the next match, Owen Hart shows up not dressed to wrestle. Owen says he has been in the wrestling business for 13 years now, and after last week, when he did what he did to Dan "The Beast" Severn and looked in his eyes, he saw his wife and two children. He did mean for anyone to get hurt, and he apologizes for what he did. He tears up, puts the microphone down and leaves the ring, unable to say anything else.

Michael Cole tries to interviews Owen Hart as he leaves the arena. All Owen says is "It's over. I'm done."

WAR ZONE

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats Kane. The Undertaker shows up during the match, and costs Kane the match after shaking the top rope down while dropping down from the apron when Shamrock swings at him. An enraged Kane makes his way to the back after the match.

Backstage, Val Venis rises up, tells Terri Runnels he found her wedding ring and that "the kitty-cat was playing with it," then sinks back down towards her crotch again.

Before the match, Val Venis says Michigan was once home to the legendary Magic Johnson, and tonight, with "The Big Valbowski" in town, it is home to "the real Magic Johnson."

Val Venis beats Gangrel by count-out. During the match, Edge jumps over the guardrail and confronts his younger brother Christian, asking what he is doing with Gangrel. Gangrel sees Edge, and he and Christian attack Edge outside of the ring before heading back to the back. After the match, a movie usher is seen on the apron, and he hands Val Venis a gold envelope. Inside the gold envelope is a gold letter, and Goldust's music and entrance video plays again. Dustin Runnels' voice says the letter is his invitation to his world premiere next week on Raw, confirming that Dustin Runnels will return as Goldust next week.

WWF owner Vince McMahon is seen being verbally combative with a nurse live via satellite at the undisclosed hospital.

Al Snow beats "Double J" Jeff Jarrett by disqualification. During the match, WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter shows up and has a word with referee Jack Doan as Snow and Jarrett fight outside of the ring. Snow notices Slaughter, crawls towards him, and hits Snow with a steel chair that Snow introduced into the match in the back. Later on in the match, Slaughter shakes the ropes as Al Snow is on the top rope with Head in his hands, knocking him off and giving Snow the disqualification win.

Before the next match, "Road Dogg" Jesse James shows up with a inflatable sex doll he names "Mona...or Mrs. Ass," and says the doll will play the part of "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn during . When D'Lo Brown shows up with "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry, he shows up with a new WWF European Championship with a dark green leather strap and the new "scratch" logo replacing the original WWE logo on the front plate. Jerry "The King" Lawler then reveals he has the document that Chyna tore up at the beginning of the show, and reveals that, according to the document, Henry is suing Chyna for sexual harassment.

"Road Dogg" Jesse James beats "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry. During the match, Chyna shows up and punches out D'Lo Brown. As Henry and referee Tim White are distracted, X-Pac gets in the ring and hits Henry with X-Factor before rolling out of the ring and giving Road Dogg the win. After the match, Henry grabs a steel chair and runs to the back with it.

WWF owner Vince McMahon is seen calling for a nurse - and more juice - live via satellite at the undisclosed hospital.

A nurse shows up as WWF owner Vince McMahon's blood pressure is taken at the undisclosed hospital. The other nurse is revealed to be none other than "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who viciously attacks Vince, punches his broken leg, hits him in the head with a bedpan, electrocutes him with a defibrillator and shoves an IV tube into his anus. At this point, the video feed immediately cuts to black.

The Undertaker beats "The Rock" Rocky Maivia. During the match, D'Lo Brown and "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry show up and watch the match from ringside. Not long after that, Kane shows up. This distracts The Rock and allows The Undertaker to hit him with a chokeslam, and D'Lo and Henry leave after this. Near the end, The Rock whips The Undertaker into the corner, sandwiching referee Earl Hebner into it. As The Undertaker, The Rock and Hebner are down, Kane grabs a steel chair from outside of the ring before The Undertaker rises back up. When The Rock whips The Undertaker into the rope, Kane hits The Undertaker in the back with the chair, throws the chair into the ring and makes his way to the back. As The Rock tries to revive Hebner, The Undertaker gets right back up and hits The Rock with a Tombstone Piledriver into the steel chair and tosses the chair out as Hebner comes to, getting the win.
