The Great American Bash 1998 - The Results

Booker T beats "The Crippler" Chris Benoit in the final match of their best-of-seven series, winning the series 4-3 and going on to face Fit Finley for the WCW World Television Championship later tonight.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. does a live interview for WCWWrestling.com, saying that Eddie Guerrero knows what is best for him, that Eddie wants to fight him and that he needs pain and punishment. Lee Marshall tries to reason with Chavo to no avail.

Before the next match, Kanyon shows up dressed as Mortis, but it is revealed that someone else in the get-up as Kanyon is suddenly behind Saturn. He attacks Saturn from behind to start their match.

Kanyon beats Saturn. Raven's Flock tries to get involved in the match, but they are ejected and banned from ringside by referee Nick Patrick. Later on in the match, two men dressed as Mortis appear, roll Kanyon and Saturn back into the ring, then wrestle each other upon seeing each other. This distracts Saturn, allowing Kanyon to hit the Flatliner after Saturn leaps from the top rope. One of the Mortises raises Kanyon's arm in victory, then hits him with the Evenflow DDT and reveals himself as Raven. Raven then berates Saturn for losing to Kanyon, and tells him he can't do anything right. Raven tells him to forget about it as it's only one loss, then tell Saturn he's sick of him. When he asks Saturn if he wants a piece of him, Saturn goes after Raven. Raven's Flock returns just before this happens, and try to outnumber Saturn only to be decimated as Raven leaves.

Chris Jericho beats Dean Malenko by disqualification after angering Malenko by telling him he is nothing just like his dead father. This enrages Malenko, who takes Jericho ringside and hits him with a steel chair. The match ends up turning into a brawl that goes all the way backstage and to the outside of the arena. Head of WCW Security separates both men, and Jericho runs into a building across the street. The status of the WCW Cruiserweight Championship, still held up, is up in the air.

Eddie Guerrero tells Chavo Guerrero Jr. in an interview for WCWWrestling.com that he may be overreacting and apologizes to him, saying he doesn't want to fight him, their relatives don't want them to fight and that he loves him.

We get a special look at Juventud Guerrera.

Juventud Guerrera beats Reese after Van Hammer hides behind the ring and blast Reese in the back with a steel chair - introduced into the match by Reese and tossed out by referee Charles Robinson - as the referee is distracted by Lodi and Reese has Juventud Guerrera up in position for a powerbomb. Van Hammer and Juvi celebrate after the match. During the match, it is announced that the status of the WCW Cruiserweight Championship will be decided tomorrow.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. beats Eddie Guerrero.

Booker T beats Fit Finley to become the WCW World Television Champion after using his weight to counter Finley's Tombstone Piledriver and hit Finley with one of his own.

Goldberg beats Konnan. After the match, Curt Hennig and Rick Rude, who accompany Konnan to the match, turn on Konnnan for not getting the job done, and Kevin Nash and Lex Luger have to chase Rude and Hennig out of the ring. Hennig then reveals he is wearing an nWo Hollywood shirt underneath and that his knee injury was a set-up to turn on the Wolfpac.

Bash At The Beach is coming live to pay-per-view on July 12th!

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart beat "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper after Savage's injured knee gives out on him and Bret makes Savage submit to the Sharpshooter following constant fighting in and out of the ring that also involves The Disciple. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Piper and Savage after the match, but neither man wants to talk as Piper helps Savage up. Savage sends Piper to the mat, starting the match between Piper and Savage.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper beats "Macho Man" Randy Savage with the Figure Four Leg Lock. Savage knocks out the referee, but Piper is able to get the Figure Four in. Referee Mickey Jay rushes into the ring to make the call.

Sting beats The Giant after three Scorpion Death Drops - the third and last from the second rope - to become one-half of the WCW World Tag Team Champions. Before the match, The Giant is seen smoking a cigarette on the way to the ring, a complete contradiction to Bischoff saying that The Giant has gotten in better shape by staying away from cigarettes and not eating for four days. When the match begins, The Giant blows smoke into this face, and Sting smacks him away, starting the match.
