Bash at the Beach 1997 - The Results

Mike Tenay guests on commentary for the next two matches.

Mortis and Wrath beat Glacier and "The Cat" Ernest Miller and brings Glacier's undefeated streak to an end after James Vandenberg places a chain around the right foot of Mortis. Glacier hits Vandenberg off the apron with the Cryonic Kick for placing Mortis' foot on the rope during the pinfall, then Mortis hits Glacier with his own Cryonic Kick with his right foot to get the win.

Diamond Dallas Page chats with fans on WCWWrestling.com...and he's not telling anybody who his mystery partner is ahead of time, not even on the Internet.

Chris Jericho retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against The Ultimate Dragon. Both men show respect after the match.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund plugs the WCW Hotline, with tonight's news being speculation as to who is in the building tonight and who Diamond Dallas Page's mystery partner could be. He then heads to the ring, then finds Raven and Stevie Richards at ringside. This time, Raven speaks, but it is in riddles as talks about dreams. Steven Richards tells Raven to talk about the announcement for tomorrow night only to get smacked in the face.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat Masahiro Chono and The Great Muta after Chono gets on the referee's bad side, and the Steiners get their shot against The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) for the WCW World Tag Team Championships.

Mike Tenay gusts on commentary for the next match.

Juventud Guerrera, Hector Garza and Lizmark, Jr. beat La Parka, Psychosis, La Parka and Villano IV despite Villano V subbing for Villano IV, unbeknownst to the referee.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats The Taskmaster in a Career Match, who goes by his usual name Kevin Sullivan (as he always has even after becoming The Taskmaster) for the match, after Jaxqueline turns on The Taskmaster and hits him in the head with the wooden chair, saying that nobody messes with her. As per pre-match stipulation, Kevin Sullivan can no longer wrestle in World Championship Wrestling. After the match, Jimmy Hart confronts Sullivan he let everyone down, and Sullivan pushes Hart out of the ring.

Jeff Jarrett retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Steve "Mongo" McMichael after Debra McMichael distracts the referee and Jarrett takes the steel Halliburton briefcase from her, using it as a weapon to get the win. After the match, Jarrett celebrates with Debra, who reveals that she was on Jarrett's side the entire time.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund plugs the WCW Hotline again, then we see an advertisement for Road Wild, which takes place in Sturgis, South Dakota live on pay-per-view August 9th!

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman proclaim that Daytona Beach, Florida and the wrestling world will be rocked tonight. Rodman says the town won't know what hit it, as he and Hogan aren't going anywhere. They plan to take out "the last two survivors" - Lex Luger and The Giant - tonight.

Diamond Dallas Page's mystery partner is revealed to be Curt Hennig.

Scott Hall and "Macho Man" Randy Savage beat Diamond Dallas Page and Curt Hennig after Hennig attacks Page from behind outside of the ring and leaves him high and dry after Page pulls the top rope down while he picks himself up, causing Hennig to fall to the mat during an Irish Whip. Kimberly helps Page back up and helps him to the back after the match.

Despite the use of a foreign object and the interference of "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichael, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper beats "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair with a sleeper hold.

Lex Luger and The Giant beat "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman with a Torture Rack to Hogan. During the match, boxer Andrew Golota and Rodman's agent Dwight Manley are seen in the crowd. Also, a man in a Sting mask (whom the commentators think really is Sting) shows up and hits The Giant in the back with a baseball bat after referee Randy Anderson is headbutted twice by Rodman. Referee Nick Patrick shows up just in time to call for the bell. After the match, Rodman and "Macho Man" Randy Savage also get put in the Torture Rack.
