Halloween Havoc 1996 - The Results

Dean Malenko beats Rey Mysterio Jr. - who gets his mask back from Malenko during the match - to become the WCW Cruiserweight Champion for a second time!

Lee Marshal interviews Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett says he could go on all night about himself and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, but he tells The New World Order that they do not impress him and that he hasn't seen them do much of anything inside the ring. He tells The Giant he won't be able to choke slam him. Flair shows up, saying he's here to support Jarrett and "orchestrate the meet and greet," as a line of women a mile long want to kiss him and Jarrett after The Giant loses. Flair tells "Macho Man" Randy Savage that he and WCW will walk the aisle, style and profile before he takes "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan down tonight.

Diamond Dallas Page beats Eddie Guerrero to retain the Battlebowl ring.

Mike Tenay and "Macho Man" Randy Savage announce the grand prize winner of the Slim Jim Sweepstakes and the monster truck: Joan Michalek of Romulus, Michigan.

It is announced that an audio simulcast of Halloween Havoc can be heard on WCWwrestling.com. Meanwhile, Chris Jericho chats with fans on Compuserve. Fans can join in by typing "go convention."

Mike Tenay interviews Dean Malenko. A month ago, he told everyone that he would be more focused than ever at Las Vegas and that he would not leave without the Cruiserweight Championship. If anyone wants a shot, they can take a ticket, wait in line and then have at it. He says he will take on all comers and that the Cruiserweight Championship will stay around his waist.

Ted DiBiase and The Giant are in the crowd. DiBiase says "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair made a big mistake for not joining The New World Order. DiBiase says Flair is not smart and calls him "a total flair." DiBiase tells Jeff Jarrett is a total fool for taking on The Giant for the "nWo United States Championship," which is the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship as well as the title that The Giant holds in his hands. Giant says he will stick Jarrett to the wall, the floor and the ceiling before choke slamming him in the middle of the ring. He says that there will be no Jarrett and no Horsemen before this is all said and done, and that everyone will be heading to the glue factory. The Giant then heads to the ring.

The Giant beats Jeff Jarrett by disqualification after "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair hits The Giant with a low blow in full view of referee Nick Patrick. The rest of The Four Horsemen ("The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael) rush into the ring and stand tall in the ring with Flair and Jarrett.

Ted DiBiase is in the crowd again, this time with Vincent and Syxx. He says The Giant got one win for The New World Order and that they'll take wins any way they can get them. He says that Chris Jericho is next, and while Jericho is a great athlete, he's at the right place at the wrong time and he's going to get better by facing the best and that he will be doing that when he gets in the ring with Syxx. Syxx tells Jericho he is a fine athlete, but tonight, he will be crucified for the sins of WCW. He says that the Cruiserweight title will be in the hands of the nWo, and that the nWo is "4 life." DiBiase says that if the New World Order says it, you can take it to the bank. Syxx then heads to the ring.

Konnan, Big Bubba and The Taskmaster are seen in the front row.

Syxx beats Chris Jericho when it becomes readily apparent to commentary that referee Nick Patrick is counting faster for nWo wrestlers than for WCW wrestlers and is using his neck break as a front. Apparently this becomes apparent to Jericho, who chases Patrick out of the ring. Patrick then helps Syxx to the back, and Syxx puts his shoulder around Patrick's neck.

Mike Tenay interviews Lex Luger. He says it didn't have to come to this, but since "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson wants to point fingers at him for costing WCW War Games, throw down the gauntlet and question everything he stands for, he is coming unglued and ready to make a stand for WCW, and Anderson will see a side of him that Anderson doesn't want to see. He promises to not just beat Anderson, but put him in the Torture Rack as well.

Lex Luger beats "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson after using a steel chair that Anderson pulls out against him and putting him in the Torture Rack. It becomes apparent after the match that Anderson is legitimately hurt. Jeff Jarrett and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair show up after the match to check on Anderson, and Anderson has to pushed out on a gurney.

Lee Marshal says that to find out what's going on with Sting, call the WCW Hotline at 1-900-909-9900. He then interviews Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray), Sister Sherri and Col. Robert Parker. He says that Harlem Heat is ready, and that he has never seen anyone like The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash), who he says needs a stern reprimanding tonight. Sherri says this will be Harlem Heat's day, as the tag team titles are what they eat, sleep and breathe for, and that The Outsiders will find out what Harlem Heat is made of. Booker T calls The Outsiders "a couple of wanna-be thugs" who are going to be whupped Harlem style, and Stevie Ray says that if they want some, they'll be waiting in the ring.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichael beat The Faces of Feat (Meng and The Barbarian) after Mongo hits Meng with the Halliburton briefcase. After the match, a brawl starts between The Horsemen and The Dungeon of Doom as Konnan grabs Woman and The Taskmaster and Big Bubba also get involved. The Dungeon comes out on top as The Taskmaster hits Mongo with his own briefcase and Benoit falls victim to the numbers game. Jimmy Hart tells Woman "If you had called him out like you were supposed to, this wouldn't be taking place" and The Taskmaster tells Woman "I'm still the man" as he kicks Benoit in the gut as he is down.

Ted DiBiase is in the crowd again, this time with Vincent. He says that The New World Order has won two matches, and there are two to go. He says the WCW World Tag Team Championships will be the nWo World Tag Team Championships, and tells Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) that there is nothing they can do about what The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash), and says that The New World Order has always gotten it done the first time and that they will continue to do so. The Outsiders then head to the ring through the "nWo entrance" in the stands.

The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash) beat Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) to become the WCW World Tag Team Champions after Kevin Nash forces Col. Robert Parker to give him his cane so he can smack it repeatedly into the back of Stevie Ray and allow Hall to cover Stevie Ray.

World War 3 is coming live to pay-per-view Sunday, November 24th!

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan is in the crowd with Ted DiBiase and The Giant with his Duke Dragon haircut from the new 3 Ninjas, and announces that his new movie "Santa With Muscles" will open in theatres on November 8th. He says he's gotten tired of body slamming Hollywood this week, so he's come back to body slam "a long-lost lovesick puppy named the Macho Man." He then heads to the ring. It is announced that The Outsiders have been escorted out of the building due to a confrontation backstage with Doug Dillinger and WCW personnel.

The "Macho Man" monster truck shows up before the main event as "Macho Man" Randy Savage makes his way to the ring for the main event. Savage then tells "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan to get The Giant and Ted DiBiase out of the ring so he can kick his ass. It is noted that Miss Elizabeth is missing and has not been seen at the beginning of the match.

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against "Macho Man" Randy Savage. During the match, we find out that Hogan's shorter spiked haircut is fake and his real hair is hidden underneath when Savage rips it off. Also, Miss Elizabeth shows up and watches from a neutral corner, and referee Randy Anderson is knocked out and Nick Patrick takes his place, which proves disastrous as he nearly costs Savage the match due to his neck pains. When Nick Patrick is taken down by Savage, Savage takes a foreign object that is initially handed to Miss Elizabeth to use against Savage (which backfired) and uses it against Hogan. The Giant comes back and takes advantage of the situation by choke slamming Savage outside of the ring and placing Hogan on top of Savage for the win. After the match, The Giant comes back with a bowl full of ice water and wakes up Hogan with it, and Savage is helped to the back. Hogan then asks the crowd if there is any question who the real king of Hollywood is. He says he is tired of Ted Turner and is taking over WCW, and anyone who gets in the ring with him is going down. He tells "the nWo-ites" that they definitely caught the right train, as they're heading out of town. Suddenly, bagpipe music plays, and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper shows up out of nowhere. Hogan and The Giant can't believe it as Piper gets in the ring. Piper pulls a microphone out of his jacket, and tells Hogan "Don't even think about it." He tells Hogan he's here to break his monotony, and then tells The Giant to go straight to the back. Hogan tells Piper that when he said he made, own and control wrestling, he remembers that he ran neck and neck with Piper. Piper says he's not here to represent any groups, though he can be an SOB when he wants to be. Piper tells Hogan that he is here to give him a reality check, as he is just a big an icon in professional wrestling and as big a Hollywood star as Hogan himself. He talks about how he started fighting when he was 15, has 6,000 professional wrestling matches and has gotten shot three times. He asks Hogan where he was when he was 15 years old and taking all comers in a garage. Hogan says he will call a spade a spade, and say that they both ran together and that he has no problem with him. He asks Hogan that if he hadn't knocked out Mr. T, took on the New York Police Department, chased Dick Clark back, had his way with Liberace and got hated so much, would the people cheer for him? He tells Hogan that he has been the one guy he has never been able to beat, and he will admit that he was as big an icon as him, and that he should have the guts to at least shake his hand and admits it wasn't just him that brought all these people here as all these people here made him. Hogan says to Piper that they have had wars to settle the score that didn't get settled, and that he thought Piper went back to his family. Now that Hogan sees Piper, he admits Piper is just as big a star as he is. Hogan and Piper shake hands, and Piper tells Hogan to straighten up. As Piper leaves, Hogan tells him that on the way out, he's "supposed to squat in that one" when he goes to the bathroom. Piper gets back in the ring, and Hogan tells Piper that he's messing with him and the nWo, and when he steps back into his world, he still has the make-up on his face and now that he looks in his eyes, he thinks that they need to have the war that didn't settle the score. Piper tells Hogan he's the reason he has no hair. Hogan tells Piper his day is coming. Hogan and The Giant are about to leave when Piper says he's not finished and he puts his hands on the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He hands the title back to Hogan as he continues to speak to Hogan, and as he does, the show ends.
