Come As You Are (WWF Superstar) - Superstars recap for July 24, 1993

We see footage of the Lex Express on the highway to start the show.

Before the next match, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan says he is proud to be an American, that he is proud of the USA and that he is proud of Lex Luger.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan beats Duane Gill.

On Update, Vince McMahon interviews WWF President Jack Tunney via telephone. Tunney says he has never come across so many people supporting anything, much less Lex Luger's plea for a WWF Championship match with Yokozuna. He admits that Luger suffers an unfair advantage from the steel plate in his right forearm from his motorcycle accident, but he will receive a title shot. However, he must wear a protective foam pad on the forearm with the steel plate in it that is approved by his office during the match. We then hear a response from Lex Luger on the Lex Express, who says he could not be happier with the decision. As for the forearm pad stipulation, that does not bother him at all and he plans to seize the opportunity to win the WWF Champion. He says the people have spoken, but the Lex Express Call To Action does not stop here, and he will continue to meet people until he reaches Detroit, Michigan at SummerSlam, where he will beat Yokozuna to become the WWF Champion.

Ludvig Borga beats Tony DiMoro in his WWF debut.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund advertises a show for Nassau Coliseum for Friday night, August 27th. The 1-2-3 Kid meets Bastion Booger, Men on a Mission (Mabel and Mo) faces Money Inc. ("The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Irwin R. Schyster), Shawn Michaels defends the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Razor Ramon, and Mr. Perfect faces Bam Bam Bigelow. Also, The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) defend the WWF Tag Team Championships against The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu), Tatanka takes on Doink, and "Macho Man" Randy Savage and The Undertaker team up to take on Giant Gonzales and Mr. Hughes. Okerlund then interviews Shawn Michaels and Diesel for Face To Face. Shawn says that Razor Ramon did not come close to winning the Intercontinental Championship at Madison Square Garden (though he did, and Diesel saved Shawn). Shawn does not want to focus that, saying that if Okerlund kept focusing onthe past, he would see himself with hair. He is more interesting in looking to the future. He finds it hilarious that Razor Ramon got a shot at his title by getting beat up by The 1-2-3 Kid. Diesel, when told if he will be at the event, says he is everywhere "The Heartbreak Kid" is because it's his job, and Shawn says there's nothing anybody can do it. Shawn says that he is the greatest wrestler on the planet while Diesel is the toughest thing anybody has ever seen, and between the two of them, Shawn says he will be keeping the Intercontinental title for a long time.

It is announced that The 1-2-3 Kid has accepted "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase's challenge from last week on Monday Night Raw, and that their match will take place this weekend on Wrestling Challenge.

Before the next match, Irwin R. Schyster tells the crowd that they are all a sorry bunch of tax cheats.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against Money Inc. ("The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Irwin R. Schyster) by count-out after I.R.S. suplexes Scott Steiner back into the ring just before the end of ten count...and fails to get back in the ring in the nick of time afterwards.

On the SummerSlam Report, , it is announced that The Undertaker is the only person who knows the rules to a Rest In Peace Match, and that Harvey Wippleman may have signed a final contract for Giant Gonzales. We then hear from Bret "Hit Man" Hart, who says people ask him what it felt like winning the King of the Ring Tournament, and says it was a career highlight. All of a sudden, "The King" Jerry Lawler ruined it by beating him on the interview platform like he had never been beaten before, either in his career or in his lifetime, and it felt like "a car crash on Unconscious Street." The wheels were upside down, but they were still turning, and those same wheels will grind Lawler up and spit him out when he obliterates him at SummerSlam.

The The 1-2-3 Kid beats Barry Horowitz.

Next week on Superstars: Luna Vachon vs. Sensation Sherri!

The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) beat Rich Myers and Tony Webb in their WWF debut.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund advertises the show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, August 13th. A six-man elimination tag match of Mr. Perfect, Tatanka and Marty Jannetty vs. Shawn Michaels, Diesel and Bam Bam Bigelow is scheduled for that night. The 1-2-3 Kid will face Doink, while Yokozuna will defend the WWF Championship in a steel cage against Bret "Hit Man" Hart. The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) will face The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu), and "Macho Man" Randy Savage will face "The King" Jerry Lawler. Yokozuna (with Mr. Fuji) and Bret are interviewed for Face To Face. Yokozuna is now at 568 pounds. Fuji is upset, as he finds it ridiculous that Yokozuna has to defend the WWF Championship in a steel cage as Bret has been crying for a title shot and got it from WWF President Jack Tunney, whom he accuses of favoritism. He says Yokozuna will finish Bret once and for all, and he will supervise it from the outside of the cage. Bret says the Steel Cage Match is the most dangerous match of all, and says what he really wants is the WWF Championship that Fuji stole from him at WrestleMania 9. He then says the whole point of the steel cage is to keep Fuji from poking his nose in his business, leaving him and Yokozuna all to themselves. He says they both know who the rightful champion is, and there will be no place to run or hide. Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji speak to each other in Japanese, then Yokozuna tells Bret he will be hit very hard.

Next week: Mr. Perfect! Men on a Mission (Mabel and Mo)! Adam Bomb! Mr. Hughes! The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu)!

Luna Vachon tells Sensational Sherri that next week, she will finally get her chance and will meet her in the ring one-on-one. She says she is the most dominant force in the WWF. Sensational Sherri tells Luna that every woman must be held accountable for her actions, and says Luna's time will come very, very soon. Next week, she will get the chance to prove she is what she claims to be.

The Lex Express is coming to Alexandria Bay, Utica, Buffalo, Erie, Cleveland, Youngstown, and Pittsburgh!
