Good Lucha Things - Lucha Libre AAA recap for July 4, 2026

General Manager Rey Mysterio heads to the ring. He says that for generations, AAA has been the place for the biggest stars in Latin wrestling, and today, their vision is bigger than ever. He wants AAA to be the place for the biggest stars in the world, and as General Manager of AAA, it is an honor for him to introduce one of the biggest Latinos in the world and a wrestler who represents the lucha libre culture: Damian Priest. Priest enters the ring and introduces himself to the AAA fans and talks about how he has traveled the world and beaten the best, and how he plans to do the same in AAA, which he has heard so much about. He says he is not here to make enemies, but he is also not here to make friends, as he is here to dominate AAA. Damian Priest says that anyone who faces him will fall before him, and if anyone has a championship, they are going to get to know him very well. Damian Priest then says that he has arrived in AAA.

Lady Shani beats Flammer after La Catalina shows up and stops Flammer from using the Reina de Reinas Championship as a weapon.

We see backstage footage from an anonymous source from last week where Psycho Clown curses himself for not trusting Pagano as Pagano is wheeled out on a stretcher into an ambulance. Psycho Clown says that whoever did this will pay.

We hear from El Grande Americano, who says that he did not expect Los Perros del Mal (Angel, Berto, Daga, Bronco Nima, Karmen Petrovic) to attack him. He says that they had their moment and tells them to enjoy it, because next week, he will be waiting for them. He dares them to show up again, and warns them that he will not be alone. He says that Los Perros del Mal may not forgive, but neither does he.

La Parka and Mr. Iguana beat the team of Dinamico and Drago and Money Machine (Colmillo de Plata and Garra de Oro) in a Triple Threat tag team match.

We look back on El Mesias vs. Cibernetico vs. Dr. Wagner Jr. in a steel cage match from Verano de Escandalo 2009.

Rey Mysterio is interviewed by the press. He feels pride in Damian Priest's debut, saying that he knows him so well that he knows that he can represent lucha libre culture and can make his own path in AAA. He says that Damian Priest and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio are going to be at next week's show in San Luis Potosi, which is going to be so interesting that security will have to be reinforced when asked about the subject of El Grande Americano calling out Los Perros del Mal (Angel, Berto, Daga, Bronco Nima, Karmen Petrovic). Rey then announces that Verano de Escandalo will take place in Aguascalientes on July 25th, and that they will also be in Torreon and South Texas in August.

El Fiscal vs. Abismo Negro ends with both men being attacked by Los Perros del Mal (Angel, Berto, Daga, Bronco Nima, Karmen Petrovic). El Fiscal takes the brunt of the beating.

In footage from earlier today, Dorian Roldan tells his mother, AAA President Marisela Pena, that they are losing out on opportunities and that they had the most important moment of AAA in their hands with El Hijo del Vikingo entering WrestleMania as Intercontinental Champion until it did not happen thanks to Mini Vikingo. He says that AAA left a lot of money on the table without WrestleMania exposure, and says that things have been chaotic as there has been no leadership or clear vision. Roldan wants to be named as an associate in the family business as well as General Manager of AAA, as he has the vision, education and the leadership to take AAA to the next level. Marisela Pena says that it has been a tough year and that Dorian Roldan has had to make some difficult choices, ans tells him to give her a week to think about it.

We see Mexican wrestling influencers' reactions to what happened between El Grande Americano I and El Grande Americano II last week.

Backstage, we hear from El Grande Americano II. He says that his words from Rey de Reyes came from the heart and were not out of obligation, then tells the person he is talking to that he is a two-time Mega Champion who has also won the Rey de Reyes Tournament. We then find out that he is talking to Texano Jr., who says that El Grande Americano II has a point, but his accolades are fleeting and lost to time and the love of the fans is forever. El Grande Americano II admits he was not here when the legends started it, but now, it is his responsibility to defend it, and it would be an honor to team with Texano Jr. to defend what Texano Jr. and the legends have built. Texano Jr. says he sees how the fans love El Grande Americano II, and he respects that, as it is not easy to get respect in Mexico. He also states that accepting a mask vs. mask match is a Mexican tradition and is also worthy of respect. Texano Jr. says it is time they team up. El Grande Americano II says they will do this for AAA and for Mexico.

Ivar beats Psycho Clown. During the match, Psycho Clown inadvertently drop kicks Ivar into the referee, sandwiching the referee in the corner. Psycho Clown then hits the Psycho Driver on Ivar, but the referee is down. Erik shows up, and he and Ivar overpower Psycho Clown before Erik revives the referee so that Ivar can get the pin and the win. After the match, Pagano shows up too late to save Psycho Clown as The War Raiders (Ivar and Erik) leave the ring, then Pagano and Psycho Clown head to the back, with Psycho Clown getting angry with Pagano. Backstage, both men start shoving each other, and Pagano tells Psycho Clown to be careful of what he is accusing him of. Both men walk away from each other, then Psycho Clown finds Murder Clown laid out on the floor. He then finds a black bandana with a bunch of skulls on it, and comes to the conclusion that Pagano is responsible.

During the match, El Fiscal shows up as Abismo Negro is about to hit Psycho Clown with the Martinet, and El Fiscal and Abismo Negro brawl their way into the crowd. Soon after, Psycho Clown hits Santos Escobar with the Psycho Driver, but The War Raiders (Ivar and Erik) show up and gang up on Psycho Clown. Pagano shows up and strikes The War Raiders with a shinai. Mr. Iguana and Santos Escobar are the only two men left in the match, but Santos Escobar gets his hands in both of Mr. Iguana's eyes to hit the Hands of Destiny for the win and to qualify for the Rey de Reyes tournament.

Backstage, Pagano and Psycho Clown are psyched to defend the AAA World Tag Team Championships against The War Raiders (Ivar and Erik). All of a sudden, Psycho Clown cannot find Murder Clown. Pagao says Murder Clown was with him in the locker room, and the two of them head back to the dressing room where Psycho Clown asks Pagano if he knows something. Pagano asks Psycho Clown if he is accusing him of something when they hear something drop in a toilet stall. They look in one of the bathroom stalls, but find nobody.
