Raw Deal - Raw recap for March 30, 1998

WWF owner Vince McMahon shows up, with a brand new version of the WWF Championship consisting of a larger WWF logo, larger globe and eagle and a blue strap. After dealing with microphone troubles and loud crowd boos, he introduces "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who shows up with the version of the WWF Championship that he won from "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels last night. Austin briefly compares belts, then drops the old belt on Vince's foot and takes the new one from him. Vince congratulates Austin, then says he wants to clear up any misunderstandings or misinterpretations concerning his opinions on Austin winning the title. Vince says that he is proud of Austin becoming the WWF Champion, and is proud that Austin represents his company. Together - a word that Vince emphasizes - with his vision and Austin's charisma, his mental prowess and his physical prowess, Austin might become the greatest WWF Champion of all time. Austin tells Vince he knows Vince hates him, and says that's okay as he hates him right back. He tells Vince there will be no "we," and that Vince won't mold or break him. What Vince sees is what Vince gets, and if he doesn't like it, tough luck. Vince says he does not hate Austin and is incapable of it, and that hate is not a word in his vocabulary. He considers Austin a genuine human being and a swell guy, and says Austin is "a hell of a guy." Austin wants Vince to repeat what he just said, and Vince said he loves him and that it's just a figure of speech. Austin laughs and says "I love you, too," then says he will do things his way and cause as much hell and chaos as he can, and continue to give Vince gray hairs every day of his life. He says that Vince McMahon can't tell him what to do, and that's the bottom line. Vince then says they can do this the easy way or the hard way, and that it's Austin's decision. Austin says that's quite the decision, and if he was forced to make a choice, he wants the definition of both the easy and hard ways. Vince says the easy way is to be flexible and willing to adapt, and that adaptation is a key of life as well as business. He then says the hard way is him being forced to do it his way, and that "we don't even need to discuss that." Austin says that's an extremely important decision, and asks Vince to give him ten seconds to think about it. His answer ten seconds later is a Stone Cold Stunner, and Austin tells the crowd that what they've seen is how to do it the hard way, and asks the crowd to give him a "hell yeah" if they want to keep seeing him do it the hard way as referees and officials check on Vince.

The encore of WrestleMania 14 is tomorrow night on pay-per-view at 8 PM Eastern, 7 PM Central.

We see footage of referees and officials helping WWF owner Vince McMahon to the back. We see Vince backstage drinking a glass of water as he is tended to by WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter and Gerald Brisco.

The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) quickly beat Los Boricuas (Jose Estrada Jr. and Jesus Castillo). After the match, Sunny re-christens the Legion of Doom "L.O.D. 2000" and says that this match is a small taste of what happens when you mix twisted steel with sex appeal. After the match, it is announced that the WWF Tag Team Champions have been held up due to a technicality, and that the real champions will be decided once again later tonight.

Kevin Kelly is in the arena's security office. He announces that Vince McMahon has left and has called the police on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, demanding that Austin be arrested.

Kevin Kelly is in the locker room, reports that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin says he isn't going anywhere and that "Vince McMahon doesn't have the balls to arrest [him]."

Kurrgan the Interrogator beats Chainz by pinfall with the Paralyzer. Before the match, it is announced that there is a rift within D-Generation X ("The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna) and that Triple H will clear the air about this later tonight. During the match, we see WWF owner Vince McMahon talking with Gerald Brisco and WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter as they wait for the police to arrive. After the match, Kurrgan drags Chainz to the back with the Paralyzer still applied.

The police are finally here to arrest "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

Jakks Pacific introduces WWF Slammers, available at toy stores everywhere!

WWF owner Vince McMahon talks with the police, and brings them into the arena. He leads them to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's locker room.

"Double J" Jeff Jarrett beats Aguila with the Figure Four Leg Lock. Tennessee Lee guests on commentary for the match, and says he has a surprise for everyone next week. After the match, Steve Blackman shows up and fights Blackman, sending him out of the ring. Tennessee Lee confronts him, and is hiding behind the referee when Jeff Jarrett gets back in the ring and gets Blackman from behind. Jarrett and Tennessee Lee then leave.

Vince McMahon finally has "Stone Cold" Steve Austin arrested, and even handcuffs can't stop Austin from ramming Vince into some lockers. Austin tells Vince he can't keep him locked up forever, and Vince tells him "We'll see about that."

We see "Stone Cold" Steve Austin placed in the back of a squad car as he tells Vince he hasn't seen the last of him and that he will get his ass.

WWF owner Vince McMahon, WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter and Gerald Brisco show up. Vince says he came out to the ring to give the fans an explanation. In the state of mind that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is in, he feels a 24-hour cooling-off period is appropriate. He didn't want to do it, but he gave Austin a choice. Austin made his choice, and so did he. Vince then leaves, as does Slaughter and Brisco.

We see some comments from "Triple H" Hunter Helmsley, who says that some people have stated that D-Generation X ("The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna) have dropped the ball. He says he is here to drop the hammer, and that the World Wrestling Federation as you know it comes to an X-rated end tonight.

The Nation of Domination (Faarooq, D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, "The Rock" Rocky Maivia, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry) is interviewed. The Rock, now carrying a new version of the Intercontinental Championship with a new front plate and a purple strap, says that "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock tried to end his career last night, but he is still standing. He plans to lay the smack down on Shamrock later tonight. He then tells Faarooq that last night, he showed him something he should have seen a long time ago, and that he is grateful. He says that Faarooq is why he is in the Nation and why he is successful and Intercontinental Champion. He says he is grateful, and says that after tonight, The Nation will be the strongest it's ever been.

The intro to War Zone is played to signal the start of the second hour.

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and Steve Blackman beat The Nation of Domination (Faarooq and "The Rock" Rocky Maivia) after The Rock walks out on Faarooq. After the match, Faarooq tells The Rock that no boy grows up to be a man when they cross him, and calls him back out so he can give him an ass whipping. The Rock shows back up, and both of them argue. Faarooq finally takes down The Rock, and the two of them brawl as D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry, referees and officlas try to intervene. The Rock eventually gets out of the ring and slowly walks to the back, but Faarooq tells him it's not over yet and commands him to come back. Suddenly, D'Lo Brown, Kama and Mark Henry attack him from behind. The Rock gets back in the ring, and hits Faarooq with the Rock Bottom before telling him there is a reason why he doesn't want him to think he is the leader of the Nation, as he is now their new leader and ruler. He stomps Faarooq one more time before telling him to "take that back to Haiti where [he] came from." Faarooq is now expelled from The Nation of Domination, and The Rock is now the de facto leader and ruler.

"Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna show up without "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. Triple H says a lot can happen in 24 hours, and has asked himself a thousand times if "Iron" Mike Tyson was on his and Shawn's side. He was told that Tyson was on his side by Shawn, and tells Shawn he dropped the ball. He then tells Shawn not toworry as he has picked it back up and that the ball is in his court. He says he'll take care of the worries and problems, and take care of the decisions. He calls tonight "the genesis of D-Generation X" and is forming the "DX army" to take care of business that should have been taken care of right from the start. He then says that when you start an army and set out to do what nobody else has done, the first thing you do is "look to your blood," your buddies and your friends, and you look to "The Kliq." He then brings out...Syxx, who hasn't been seen in WCW in months since he got injured. Syxx shows up, and he and Triple H embrace before heading to the ring. Triple H says that when you've been an indentured servant for two years, you run up a lot of feelings, and hands the microphone to Syxx. Syxx heard "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan come out on television and say he couldn't cut the mustard, and tells Hogan "You suck, pal!" and says he has no room to talk about anybody cutting any kind of mustard. He then gives Hogan some advice: don't stop short or else Eric Bischoff will go so far up his ass he'll know what he had for breakfast. He then talks about how he was sitting at home when he got a call from Triple H, asking him that D-Generation X needed his help, and that if he needs his help, he's got it. He then tells Kevin Nash and Scott Hall would be standing here with them if they weren't being held hostage by World Championship Wrestling, and tells Eric Bischoff that's a fact before telling him to put that in his pipe and smoke it. Syxx says that this is a new beginning for DX and they're here to "rip ass on the World Wrestling Federation, and it starts tonight." Triple H and Syxx then have two words for everyone: suck it.

Unforgiven: In Your House is coming to pay-per-view April 26th!

Adult film star Val Venis, who is watching his latest flick "Live Hard," is coming to the World Wrestling Federation. He says Bruce Willis is good, but Val Venis is great, and that he's the real deal au naturel, and tells the ladies that the gift he has is something no other male on the planet has ever been blessed with. When he penetrates the World Wrestling Federation, all the ladies across the country will be squealing in delight and that they'll get all of him.

Before the next match, Luna Vachon shows up and demands a rematch with Sable. Sable tells her she's got it, but Luna Vachon wants a special match. Sable tells her she can have any kind of match, anywhere. Luna calls their eventual re-match an "Evening Gown Match," and asks Sable is she ripped her gown off. At Unforgiven, the winner of th ematch with the most clothes left on. "Marvelous" Marc Mero doesn't want Sable to agree to the match, but after Luna tells Sable she will humiliate and embarass her by stripping her down to her bra and panties, assuming she wears any, and calls her a slut. Sable tells Luna she's already kicked her ass and that it'll be a pleasure to do it again. Luna respons by telling her "Be there, slut."

"Marvelous" Marc Mero beats Taka Michinoku with a low blow and a TKO as Sable confronts the ref for letting Mero choke Taka with a foreign object. Sable checks on Taka after the match, but Mero pushes her away and stomps Taka again. After Mero and Sable leave, three men of Asian descent come out of the crowd and ambush Taka from the crowd before leaving through the crowd.

Before the next match, Jim Cornette introduces NWA World Heavyweight Champion and UFC Triple Crown Winner Dan "The Beast" Severn before he guests on commentary for the next match, saying "everybody's been shooting tonight" and that he has brought his own shooter. Severn watches the match from ringside.

During the match, it is announced that "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley will be revealing another new member of D-Generation X later tonight. After the match, Jim Cornette sics Dan "The Beast" Severn on The Headbangers until he tells him to stop.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin uses his one phone call in jail to call the show, and tells Jim Ross to tell WWF owner Vince McMahon that he is "a sorry, sorry son of a bitch," and that the last time he checked, the Stone Cold Stunner isn't punishable by the death penalty and that Vince's ass belongs to him. He says that Vince will find out how pissed off he is, and it won't be a fun night for him next week. If it doesn't work, he'll pay Vince a house call and tell him Austin 3:16 says "I just whipped your ass."

As referees set up the steel cage match for the WWF Tag Team Championships, Kane and Paul Bearer show up. Bearer tells The Undertaker to behold his brother Kane, and asks him if he actually believed that it was over after WrestleMania. Bearer then brags about Kane being the only man to kick out of the Tombstone not once, but twice, and that he would have done it a third time. Bearer says that The Undertaker had to change after all that happened, and that after he went to the hotel, he was proud of what Kane was still able to do. He then says he awoke from a dream at 2 AM, where he saw Kane standing alone in a wrestling ring surrounded by fire, and challenges The Undertaker to step into his dream, in which the only way to win is to make your opponent catch fire. Kane and Bearer then leave.

We see footage from earlier today, in which Chainsaw Charlie got medical attention from a deep bruise on his hip from last night.

Before the next match, "Road Dog" Jesse James says they didn't represent "the squad" last night, and that they took Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie's hardcore titles and plan to take the tag team titles back, and if Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie think they're champs, they've got another thing coming. The steel cage is finally fully constructed by the time The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) get the match started early.

The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) beat Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie in a steel cage match to become the WWF Tag Team Champions after D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Syxx, Chyna) show up and Syxx hits Cactus Jack with a chair before tossing it into the ring. The Outlaws hit Jack with a double-team spike piledriver before getting the pin on Jack as Chainsaw Charlie continues to be chained to the ring by his neck. After the match, the Outlaws continue to pound on Charlie while Triple H hits Cactus Jack with a Pedigree. As they continue their attack, the Outlaws continue to perform crotch chops and saying the words "suck it" much like Triple H and Syxx before celebrating with Triple H and Syxx, revealing them to be the newest members of D-Generation X.
