Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for December 1, 1997

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Eric Bischoff. Bischoff says there is nothing to reconsider regarding last week, and that he is very confident in his position. Unfortunately, there isn't a single piece of paper with his name on it at the office saying he has agreed to wrestle anybody, especially "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko, saying he only challenged Zbyszko for right then and there. Bischoff states that he will not be wrestling at Starrcade, and if anyone is expecting to, it's not going to happen. The only way he would wrestle Zbyszko is if he put Nitro on the line, as WCW still owns the nWo a show of its own, but says Zbyszko can't do that.

Eddie Guerrero shows up before the next match to scout Rey Mysterio, Jr. and guest on commentary, replacing Mike Tenay for the next match.

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Juventud Guerrera.

Most of Raven's Flock (Raven, Perry Saturn, Billy Kidman, Van Hammer, Sick Boy, Scotty Riggs) jump the guardrail before the next match.

Hugh Morrus beats Wrath. During the match, Wrath wraps a chain around his foot and James Vandenberg distracts the referee so Mortis can kick Hugh Morrus. Unfortunately for Mortis, Morrus ducks and hits Wrath instead. Morrus knocks Vanderberg off the apron and hits No Laughing Matter for the win.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: Glacier vs. "The Cat" Ernest Miller! Rey Mysterio, Jr.! Ray Traylor! The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner)!

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff show up. Hogan says that everyone knows he is the man and the hero, and that the reason the nWo is just too sweet is because he is the reason everyone is in this buidling. But what gets him madder than anything else is everyone in the crowd wearing Sting masks, saying they're all in denial as Sting is the coward and that if Sting had any courage to get in the ring, he'd beat him up just like every coward in the crowd. Because people worship Sting and are afraid to admit that he made wrestling and the New World Order, something bad is going to happen tonight unless the crowd removes their Sting masks. Hogan then tries to stare down with an old woman with a Sting mask in the frontrow,

Prince Iaukea gets an upset win against Yuji Nagata.

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.

Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) beat The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) kicks The Barbarian in the gut to allow Booker T to get the win with a victory roll after Jacqueline yanks Jimmy Hart off the apron and keeps him at bay. Meng gets the Tongan Death Grip on Stevie Ray, and Booker T tries to break the hold with a wooden chair only to fall victim to the hold as well. Meng lets go after he and The Barbarian notice Jacqueline choking out Jimmy Hart, who is crying for help. Jacqueline runs away when Meng and The Barbarian climb out of the ring.

The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash) show up. Kevin Nash says after a year-and-a-half, everyone in the WCW should by now to mouth off to the nWo, and last week, Sting and The Giant both paid for it. He then calls Disco Inferno out to get the next match over with. Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Scott Hall beats Disco Inferno.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon. Dillon says that Eric Bischoff never ceases to amaze him, as he always manages to reach a new low, and that Bischoff now needs a stepladder to look a snake in the eye. Dillon is trying to push peronal feelings aside, as Bischoff is not a fool and that Bischoff was right in saying "The Living Lary" Larry Zbyszko can't put Nitro on the line. There is more than one way to skin a cat, however, and although Zbyszko cannot put Nitro on the line, he can, he and will and he already has, and the match between Bischoff and Zbyszko will take place at Starrcade. Eric Bischoff storms out, unhappy with the decision, saying that Dillon doesn't have the stroke to put Nitro on the line. Dillon tells Bischoff that at Starrcade, he will watch Zbyszko kick Bischoff's keister all the way up to between his shoulders to the point that Bischoff looks like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Bischoff is speechless.

Ultimo Dragon beats Psychosis. Raven's Flock (Raven, Perry Saturn, Billy Kidman, Van Hammer, Sick Boy, Scotty Riggs, the unnamed member) are seen in the front row during the match. It is also mentioned during the match that Ultimo Dragon's daughter has successfully recovered from abdominal surgery and is currently recovering at home in Mexico.

Paulson Webber of Greenfield, Wisconsin is the winner of this week's Nitro Party Pack.We see footage of his Nitro party.

Raven, who is scheduled to face "The Crippler" Chris Benoit next, refuses to face Benoit as it is not on his terms. He sends Billy Kidman to take his place.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Billy Kidman with the Crippler Crossface. Benoit fights off Raven's Flock Raven's Flock (Raven, Perry Saturn, Billy Kidman, Van Hammer, Sick Boy, Scotty Riggs), but when he stares down with Van Hammer, Raven gets him from behind and hits him with the Evenflow DDT. Saturn then applies the Rings of Saturn to Benoit before Raven kneels down and looks over him.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Lex Lugr beats Buff Bagwell by disqualification after Vincent interferes. Both Vince and Buff Bagwell are put in the Torture Rack after the match.

In the nWo's newest paid announcemment, the nWo tells Diamond Dallas Page to "get the message."

Diamond Dallas Page vs. Curt Hennig for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship ends when "Ravishing" Rick Rude drags referee Mark Curtis out of the ring and the nWo attacks Page. Curt Hennig retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan hits Page with a Diamond Cutter of his own before placing a Sting mask on Page's face and hitting another Diamond CUttter on him, this time on the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Hogan then tells Sting that he will get Stung at Starrcade.
