Raw Deal - Raw recap for August 1, 1994

Razor Ramon tells Shawn Michaels that he's going down tonight, but Shawn says he'll make sure Razor doesn't make it to SummerSlam.

Vince McMahon is back on commentary. "Macho Man" Randy Savage mentions Vince's recent verdict of not guilty of distributing steroids to wrestlers before the first match.

Shawn Michaels beats Razor Ramon after Shawn Michaels grabs the Intercontinental title and tries to whack him with it behind the referee's back after Razor attacks Diesel, who is on the apron. Razor stops the attack, but Michaels sends Razor into a big boot from Big Daddy Cool, allowing Michaels to get the roll-up. They both attack Razor Ramon after the match until officials break it up.

Lex Luger and Tatanka are officially squaring off on SummerSlam.

Bull Nakano and Alundra Blayze fight to a double count-out. After the match, Luna Vachon attacks Blayze from behind, but Luna sends Vachon tumbling right over Nakano.

Bam Bam Bigelow and Irwin R. Schyster take on Doink and Tatanka next week on Raw!

It's time for The King's Court. "The King" Jerry Lawler goes into the crowd, so WWF fan Mike Boyle pops the big question to his fiancee Andrea. Lawler brings Andrea into the ring after the break to have her answer "Yes" in front of the entire crowd. Lawler asks Andrea (in typical fashion) to get as much as she can out of him in her name, and to "let him have one of the puppies" if they have children. He then pretends to kiss her before letting her return to the ring, then announces tonight's guest: Bob Backlund, who appears in a suit and tie. Backlund says he tried to boon everyone's lives and benefit them during his ten years out of the WWF, and says he is disappointed about how weak everyone is. He says he never gave up or submitted on that day in 1984, and he is still the WWF Champion. Backlund also calls Bret "Hitman" Hart and the New Generation of the WWF a society he wants nothing to do with, as they are not disciplined enough, not hard-working enough, and are unwilling to pay the price, in his words.

The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) beat George Anderson and Tom Bennett at the very end of the show.
