Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for December 5, 2014

Santino Marella begins the show by announcing that he's running SmackDown this week.

Dolph Ziggler beats Luke Harper by disqualification after a low blow by Harper, who retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship. After the match, Luke Harper pulls a steel stepladder out from below the ring and tries to power bomb Ziggler into it, only for Ziggler to counter it into a facebuster. Santino Marella shows up after this to declare a match between Ziggler and Harper at TLC for the Intercontinental title!

Seth Rollins, Kane, Big Show and J&J Security (Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury) are all in the ring. Rollins says he can't wait to beat John Cena at TLC and unravel everything that Cena has worked for. he says that all he has to do is put Cena through a table, and it's all up in smoke. Big Show goes out of the ring, grabs some steel stairs, and slams them into other steel stairs as well as the turnbuckle post to make an example of what he's going to do to Erick Rowan in a little over a week. Kane then talks about how he's going to put Ryback through chair after chair until Santino Marella shows up. Santino then makes another match, this time for tonight: Rollins and Big Show vs. Rowan and Ryback.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) beat Cesaro and Tyson Kidd. After the match, Gold & Stardust (Goldust and Stardust) appear on the TitanTron, threatening to blot out the light that is The New Day with their own personal black hole. The newly-formed threesome state that it will take a lot more than words to take them down.

Naomi has a bouquet of her favorite flowers, and when she thanks Jimmy Uso for them, she finds out that he didn't send and they both find out they're from The Miz. Jimmy throws the flowers to the ground.

Before his match, Dean Ambrose tells Bray Wyatt that he will pick him apart like he did the rocking chair. Lana and Rusev show up, and Lana says that Rusev will not be competing tonight due to being injured by Jack Swagger earlier this week. Lana calls America a bunch of cowards, and Rusev plans to destroy Jack Swagger like he did Zeb. Ambrose doesn't care, and decides to take the fight to Rusev. All of a sudden, Ambrose is attacked from behind by Bray Wyatt, who then gives Ambrose the beating of his life which ends with a chair shot to Ambrose's throat. Ambrose has to be taken out of the arena on a stretcher.

Before the next match, it becomes apparent that The Miz can't seem to understand that trying to get a producer for Naomi is getting him in trouble with The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso). When Jey Uso comes out, Jimmy Uso comes with him...and he's still mad. Jey has to hold Jimmy back.

The Miz beats Jey Uso after the distraction from Damien Mizdow.

Santino Marella consults with The Bunny.

Seth Rollins wants to make sure Big Show is on the same page as him and Kane, who say they are a team. Show says that the "team" is three guys who are all about themselves, but agrees that they need to get rid of Erick Rowan and Ryback.

Ryback and Erick Rowan beat Seth Rollins and Big Show after Kane is removed from the ring and the ref stops some rule-breaking tactics from Big Show.
