Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for December 2, 1996

Scott Steiner shows up with Rick Steiner, and calls out Sting, telling him he's here to make sure he doesn't attack Rick again like he did last week. Rick Steiner challenges Sting to come down to the ring and face him again, so they can end it.

Glacier quickly beats Hardbody Harrison.

Members of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Dayton Ice Bandits are spotted in the audience.

The Amazing French Canadians (Jacques Rougeau and Carl Ouellet) beat Joe Gomez and The Renegade.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. Anderson says that Hulk Hogan is supposedly unbeatable, but he beat him two times in a row. He tells Hogan that him beating "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is an illusion that he is living in, and calls Piper a man with guts who was focused and fearless when he called The New World Order. He says that Hogan failed to take him out and gave him an edge, and that anything that happens to Hogan is a receipt. He asks Hogan what he's going to do when he's alone in the ring with Piper. On the subject of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper being on next week's Nitro in Charlotte, North Carolina - home of The Four Horsemen - Anderson says you don't jump a dog in his own backyard and you don't mess with family. He says The Horsemen will have Piper's back, and tells The New World Order that they will find out that Charlotte is not a friendly place.

The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) beat Robert Gibbs and Scotty Riggs. Riggs attacks The Faces of Fear with a steel chair after the match.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson! "Lord" Steven Regal! The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian)! Chris Jericho! Rick Steiner! Bunkhouse Buck! Jeff Jarrett! The Taskmaster!

We see footage of The Taskmaster vs. "The Crippler" Chris Benoit in Baltimore, Maryland, where The Dungeon of Doom attacks Benoit in the arena bathroom. Woman keeps the Dungeon from attacking Benoit, but when she rakes The Taskmaster's eyes, she is held back as the attack on Benoit continues.

The Taskmaster beats "Sexy" Shawn Casey (who is not even referred to by name in the match). "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Taskmaster after the match, and Taskmaster says that he thought he was the greatest chessmaster to ever play the game, but "The Crippler" Chris Benoit has hurt him mentally and in the heart, as his former wife Woman is now on his side. He says there is a lot of Benoit in him, but the sweetness eventually wears off, and he doesn't care if he digs his own grave against Benoit, as one of them will be buried alive "as the equation equals three."

Despite being blinded by a camera flash from Sonny Onoo, Dean Malenko retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Billy Kidman with the Texas Cloverleaf.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Jeff Jarrett beats Big Bubba when the plan to use Jimmy Hart's megaphone as a weapon fails tremendously, as Jarrett not only dodges it, but drop kicks it out of Bubba's hands.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) is in the ring. Rick calls out Sting, daring him to show his face. Sting shows up in the rafters, and the Steiners - and the fans - notice him. Rick calls him out for attacking him from behind, and challenges him to a one-on-one match. Sting nods his head yes and leaves.

The New World Order shows up...and they head to the commentary table, scaring all the commentators off. Eric Bischoff, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall take over on commentary while Syxx and Vincent hang out near the commentary table, and Bischoff tells "Rowdy" Roddy Piper he doesn't want any of "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, showing some archival footage to tell him what happened to Vader, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "Macho Man" Randy Savage and use them as examples. Eric Bischoff says he can use his executive powers to make it so that the winner of the United States title tournament has to eventually defend the title against The Giant, who holds the physical belt.

Eddie Guerrero beats "Squire" David Taylor.

Lee Marshall calls from Charlotte, North Carolina as part of the 1-800-COLLECT Road Report.

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson beats Jim Powers.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats "Lord" Steven Regal to advance in the United States title tournament. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, Steve "Mongo" McMichael and Debra McMichael, and Benoit joins them at the beginning of the interview. Anderson says Luger that is not a quitter or a coward, and that he has proven that. He then says that the Horsemen are refocusing and re-dedicating themselves, and if WCW needs leaders, they'll fill that role and have "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's back. However, The Four Horsemen are only as good as the sum of their parts, and he asks Benoit where Woman is. Benoit says she's taking care of Horseman business, even if she is not here. Mongo gives Benoit advice, and Debra butts in saying that she is tired of Nancy fuelling Benoit's ego and going "Chris this, Chris that." Anderson simply asks Benoit to give him his word that Woman is a Horseman, and that will be all he needs. Anderson concludes by saying all of them would rather be Horsemen than anything else.

Lex Luger beats "Flyboy" Rocco Rock with the Torture Rack.

Sting finally shows up for his first match since Fall Brawl through the crowd. When he enters the ring, he tosses the baseball bat away and turns his back on Rick Steiner, allowing Rick to attack him. It does not take long for Sting to hit Rick Steiner with the reverse DDT, and he picks up the baseball bat, moves Scott Steiner out of the way with it, then pushes Rick back into the corner with it before handing the bat to him before turning his back on him again. Scott stop sRick from hitting him with the bat and tosses the bat away. Sting takes the bat, walks out of the ring and leaves through the crowd.
