"Stone Cold" Steve Austin beats Savio Vega to continue to the semi-finals of the King of the Ring Tournament.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin guests on commentary for the next match. Whoever wins this match will face Austin in the semi-finals of the King of the Ring Tournament.

Marc Mero beats Owen Hart to continue to the semi-finals of the King of the Ring Tournament, where he will face "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Before the commercial break, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin stood up and walked away from the commentary area, and during the commercial break, he was escorted to the back by officials to ensure he did not interfere in the match. After the match, Owen Hart attacks Marc Mero, calling him a coward for kicking him in the cast around his arm.
As officials check on Marc Mero, we see footage from WWF Superstars of Jim Ross interviewing The British Bulldog, who has Diana Hart Smith standing by his side. Bulldog tells everyone that he has all the confidence in the world, and that Shawn Michaels messed with his most prized possession: his wife. This Sunday, he plans to take "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels' most prized possession: the WWF Championship. He says he is going to chew him up, spit him out and bury him like an old dog's bone. When Jim Ross tells Bulldog that Shawn is in the building, he tells Jim Ross that he doesn't give a frog's fat arse where Shawn is, because if he had any guts, he would come out here right now. Shawn runs in as if on cue and feuds with The British Bulldog, and referees, wrestlers and officials all have to break it up.

Marc Mero has regained consciousness and is very briefly seen on a stretcher.
"The Portuguese Man-O-War" Aldo Montoya is in the ring. Jerry "The King" Lawler, told by Vince McMahon that he will get his from The Ultimate Warrior at King of the Ring. Lawler gets in the ring and talks to Montoya, and tells him he's going to show the audience what he's going to do to The Ultimate Warrior by hitting him in the face with the microphone before attacking him and putting him in a piledriver. Suddenly, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, on the way to his match, chases Jerry "The King" Lawler out of the ring.
We see Connecticut Special Olympics athlete Erik Norgren carry the Olympic torch outside of Titan Towers. We then see Brian Pillman, best known as Flyin' Brian from World Championship Wrestling, hold his contract signing. He talks about the last eight weeks of his life, where he is choked up and he mentions his car accident and his dream of coming to the WWF coming true. A full transcript of Pillman's contract signing will be available on America On-Line after the show.

Goldust beats Jake "The Snake" Roberts after Marlena distracts referee Harvey Wippleman and Goldust throws gold glitter into Roberts' face. However, Wippleman notices the gold glitter on Roberts' face and reverses the decision, awarding the match to Jake "The Snake" Roberts. After the match, Goldust attacks a blinded Roberts, but Roberts hits the DDT on Goldust in the end. Afterwards, Mr. Perfect interviews Jim Cornette, who announces that his choice of special guest referee for The British Bulldog vs. "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship at King of the Ring is none other than Mr. Perfect himself.
