Raw Deal - Raw recap for January 18, 2016

WWE pays tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr.

Roman Reigns shows up to start the show. Sunday may truly be one versus all, but tonight's he only worried about one man: Brock Lesnar. He wants him to come down to the ring so he can settle things. Instead, he gets Chris Jericho. Reigns is happy to see him, but he wants Lesnar. Jericho says Lesnar will be in the arena later tonight for Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel, and he wants Reigns on the show as well. Reigns says he'll be there, then The League of Nations (Sheamus, Rusev, King Barrett, Alberto Del Rio) shows up. Sheamus says that the Royal Rumble match won't be "Reigns vs. Lesnar" and that he will be taking the WWE World Heavyweight Championship back from Roman Reigns, then welcomes Chris Jericho back to WWE before cracking a few jokes and wondering why he's not on the Highlight Reel. Jericho makes fun of Sheamus' hair while saying he didn't want him on his show, then Alberto Del Rio jumps in and says that unlike Jericho, he's won a Royal Rumble match. Jericho makes fun of Del Rio, then Rusev says that every day in Bulgaria was a rumble, so this is nothing new to him. Roman Reigns says that he won the Royal Rumble match last year, and that Rusev almost won it that year. Roman decides he's had enough of Rusev, and challenges him to a match right now. Jericho names himself the special guest referee of the match due to The League of Nations wanting to surround the ring.

Roman Reigns beats Rusev when special guest referee Chris Jericho tosses Sheamus, King Barrett and Alberto Del Rio out of the match.

Stephanie McMahon confronts Chris Jericho backstage, telling him he had no authority to make Roman Reigns vs. Rusev for the opening match. As much as she admits that Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns on Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel at the same time was a good idea, she warns him to mess with her show or disrespect her again.

Natalya returns for the first time in weeks with Paige in her corner, and she beats Brie Bella with the Sharpshooter.

The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan) beat The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley) and Ryback.

Heath Slater says The Social Outcasts (Slater, Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel) will win the Royal Rumble match and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on Sunday. Slater hopes to eliminate Big Show tonight.

Big Show beats Heath Slater with one knockout punch. After the match, Big Show knocks out Curtis Axel, Adam Rose and Bo Dallas.

Stephanie McMahon meets with Sheamus, King Barret and Alberto Del Rio to get them back on the right track. Sheamus says they're not afraid of Jericho, especially after how he "punked them out" (in Stephanie's words) earlier tonight. Stephanie tells him to prove it.

Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon shows up. Roman Reigns is revealed to be the first entrant in the Royal Rumble after Roman Reigns switches balls in the wheel, but then they spin the wheel again, keep switching balls and gets Roman Reigns again...and again. Vince says Roman is #1 in the Rumble, but after Sunday, he won't be #1 in the WWE Universe.

Charlotte and Ric Flair sit at ringside for the next match.

Becky Lynch beats Tamina with a Disarmher from the top rope. After the match, Becky Lynch wants another shot at the Divas Championship, but Charlotte won't give it to her. Becky says Ric Flair never backed down from a challenge, but it appears that he is now as cowardly as his daughter. Ric Flair falls for it hook, line and sinker and makes the title match possible for Sunday night.

This Thursday on SmackDown: Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens on Miz TV! Roman Reigns takes on The League of Nations (Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, King Barrett, Rusev).

Kevin Owens guests on commentary for the next match.

The League of Nations (Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio) beat Dean Ambrose and Kalisto.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) hold a funeral for Xavier Woods' trombone (named Francesca). Xavier Woods wants Big E to avenge Francesca by beating Jey Uso tonight.

Royal Rumble, by the numbers.

Big E beats Jey Uso thanks to a distraction from Xavier Woods.

Titus O'Neil, R-Truth, Mark Henry and Neville get together in the locker room before their eight-man tag match.

Titus O'Neil, R-Truth, Mark Henry and Neville beat Stardust, Tyler Breeze and The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor).

It's time for The Highlight Reel. Jericho's guests tonight are Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. Before the show begins, Jericho says he intends to win his first Royal Rumble match this year. Suddenly, Paul Heyman shows up, but Jericho wants to know where Lesnar is. Heyman says Lesnar is here tonight, and that he is clearly focused on Roman Reigns. When Jericho asks if Heyman tried to get Lesnar out of the Royal Rumble match because he did not like his chances, Heyman insists he did not and that Lesnar will wipe the floor with everybody, turning the Royal Rumble match into Suplex City in the process. When Jericho asks what would happen if he and Lesnar were the final two and Jericho ended up winning the whole thing, Lesnar shows up. Roman Reigns then makes his appearance before Lesnar can leap onto the ring apron. Lesnar gets in the ring with Roman and gets Speared almost instantly. As Roman goes to work on Lesnar, The League of Nations shows up. Roman and Lesnar take all of them down, then The Wyatt Family appears. Lesnar is out, leaving Roman to deal with the Wyatts alone. The numbers game catches up with Roman, and Lesnar isn't as lucky.

Here are the top 10 moments from tonight's show!
