American Wrestling Experience - AWF Warriors of Wrestling recap for April 1, 1995

Sgt. Slaughter says Americans have their freedom of choice, and your choice for professional wrestling should be the American Wrestling Federation.

Tony Atlas beats Ron Powers by pinfall in the second round. During the match, Sgt. Slaughter is in the Warriors' Corner. Next week, he, Rico Suave and "Luscious" Tommy Rich will find out who the better man is between him and Rich, and that Rich will learn why his elbow is called the Slaughter Cannon, his wrists the Cobra Clutch and his name is Sgt. Slaughter.

Ken Resnick interviews Tito Santana says he's feeling a little bruised on the outside, and real bruised on the inside after Hercules and Sheik Adnan Alkahassie's attempts to take him out of the AWF Heavyweight Championship tournament last week, and says they did not get the job done. As for Mr. Hughes, he will not get the job done, either. Santana does not like Sheik Adnan Alkahassie, and if the Sheik gets involved in his match with Mr. Hughes, he'll have something left for him. He says the AWF Heavyweight Championship means everything to him, and nothing to Alkahassie or to Mr. Hughes.

Michael P.S. Hayes beats Bobby Bradley by pinfall in the first round.

"Gentleman" Chris Adams beats The Warlord by pinfall in the second round when Warlord inadvertently kept both of his shoulders on the mat after a belly-to-back suplex pin and Adams gets one of his shoulders up before the three count. During the match, "Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr. is in the Warriors' Corner, and says that while Johnny Gunn is viewed as the dark horse in the AWF Heavyweight Championship tournament, he will ride Johnny Gunn into the dirt just like he has with other dark horses.

Ken Resnick interviews "Gentleman" Chris Adams, who says he was trying to wear down The Warlord, who he admits is a big man and tough to beat. He says he won the match because he feels the fans are 100% behind him, which makes him feel strong. As for the winner between Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and Jimmy Powers, he plans to scout the match and says he has his money on Powers.

"Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr. beats Johnny Gunn by pinfall at the last second in the first round to continue on to the quarter-finals of the AWF Heavyweight Championship tournament, after referee Billy Silverman consults with referee Jesse Hernandez. During the match, Terry Taylor does his best impersonation of "Macho Man' Randy Savage, then Mr. Hughes appears in the Warriors' Corner, talking about how Hurricane Smith and Jimmy Snuka both went down to the Sidewalk Slam, and how Tito Santana will also go down with the Sidewalk Slam and go down for the last time next week.

Ken Resnick interviews "Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr. and Sir Oliver Humperdink. Humperdink says Johnny Gunn has found out what it means to step in the ring with Orton, and next week, Koko B. Ware will also go down. Orton says predictions come true when you have to ability to back it up, and he has that ability. He knows that Koko B. Ware has worked hard to get where he is, but it stops next week as he will be in the ring with a man with desire to win the championship and that he will not get in his way.

Greg "The Hammer" Valentine beats Jimmy Powers with a small package out of a Figure Four Leg Lock in the second round to continue on to the quarter-finals of the AWF Heavyweight Championship tournament. During the match, commentator Terry Taylor does his best impersonation of Hulk Hogan and tries to get closer to Rico Suave's secretary with the laptop computer at ringside.

Sgt. Slaughter says you've made the right choice with the American Wrestling Federation, and until next week...you're dismissed.
