Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for October 4, 2025

Dustin Starr interviews Mike Anthony at the announce desk to start today's show. Mike Anthony announces that today is Day 364 of his Internet Championship reign and that tomorrow will be a full year. He gives credit where credit is due and says this would not have been possible without the fans. He tells "The Chosen One" Zay Washington that if he wanted to challenge him for the Internet title, all he had to do was turn the knob on the door and walk on in. He also says he is not waiting until the main event, and that he is defending his championship right now.

We see footage from a Memphis Tigers volleyball team photo shoot.

"The Chosen One" Zay Washington beats Mike Anthony to become Memphis Wrestling Internet Champion for a second time! The match ends Mike Anthony's reign one day shy of a full year. During the match, which sees constant interference from "The Problem" Aaron Roberts and Justin Case getting ejected from ringside by senior official David Knight for pulling Knight out of the ring during a pinfall attempt, Aaron Roberts gets kicked in the groin by Mike Anthony, who then hits him with a brainbuster. Anthony hits the move, but Zay Washington hits Mike Anthony with a top rope 450 splash immediately afterwards to win the match and the title.

In the parking lot, Jake Brewer reports on The L.A. Hustlers (Notorious Bradley and Ruffshot Lamont) selling their own merchandise to Memphis Wrestling fans out of a car. Ruffshot Lamont says people are paying big bucks for their anti-Dustin Starr merchandise, and that they are doing this to pay their $10,000 fine for attacking Gio Savage - who they call a "high powered dancing coward" - levied against them by Matchmaker King Cobra, who has also suspended The L.A. Hustlers for the attack.

Makkari Kandy shows up and hands a letter intended for J. Webb to Dustin Starr.

We see footage of Nixi XS travelling the world, including Paris, France, with the Memphis Wrestling Women's Championship in tow.

Dustin Starr interviews Big John Dalton at the announce desk. Big John Dalton says Memphis Wrestling has been killing it all over the back, but they are back at the WrestleCenter, and he is loving it and he is on fire. On the subject of his recent matches with Sycho Simon, K-Toomer shows up and says that Big John Dalton has not checked on him once since they lost the tag team titles and he was briefly out of action. He tells Big John Dalton that he has the ability, but not the knowledge. He also says Buff Bagwell should not have been ringside in private conversations, and says that Big John should have his head in the game. Big John Dalton takes this as K-Toomer disrespecting Buff Bagwell, and Dustin Starr reminds them that they have a tag team match next week and that they need to get it together.

Backstage, Main Event Bradley meets with Mama Money and CJ Money, and blames CJ Money on their recent tag team loss. He grounds CJ Money and confiscates his phone, his watch and his belt with help from Mama Money. He also says that he was supposed to face "The Gift" Ray Sanders next week, but now CJ Money is going to do it, and that he will be on commentary at the announce desk to ensure CJ Money gets the win.

Colton Cage retains the Memphis Wrestling Junior Heritage Championship against CJ Blaine.

We see footage from this year's Wrestling Night at AutoZone Park.

Backstage, Sycho Simon grabs a cameraman and senior official David Knight, then attacks a random person in the men's bathroom and attacks him and pins him for a three-count. He tells the championship committee that they wanted a match and that there are no rules, and that he is the master and ruler of Memphis Wrestling.

J. Webb shows up and receives the letter from Makkari Kandy at the announce desk, then walks off.

The Hollywood Clique (Jay Smooth and Kale) retain the Memphis Wrestling Tag Team Championships against The Bizness Dawgs (Tim Grind and Lil' Homie) after "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock distracts the referee and hands Jay Smooth a cane to hit Tim Grind with prior to a double-team manuever to win and retain. After the match, Jay Smooth grabs Xya Wolfe as she checks on Tim Grind, and Lil' Homie saves Xya and sends Jay Smooth, Kale and Jimmy Blaylock into a retreat with a metal folding chair.
